I wish that I could've seen 80s country singer Billy Joe Royal, I love him SO much!!!
God bless you and his family always!!!
Holly
P.S. I did get to see at like age nine my late beautiful precious Steve Sanders of the Oak Ridge Boys once when him and the other members of the group did a show at the Cincinnati Zoo, but the only thing that I remember about the show is hearing Joe say that his favorite animal to see when going to a zoo were the cats. (burying my head)

that's a tough one. I pretty much have seen just about everything I've wanted to see. Ofcourse there's always more, but as far as the major stuff I mean. One band that I really like but never got to see was Triumph. Those guys rock. I have seen Rik emmet live doing an acoustic set, but ofcourse that's not really the same. I have also never seen White Lion or Helloween, though I had the chance.

I would like to have seen these artists perform, but only in their prime. It's a sad fact of life that after 30 or 40 years some artists just can't perform at the level of proficiency they once did. (I always think of the South Park episode with a decrepit Rod Stewart singing "Do ya think I'm sexy?" from a wheelchair )
Billie Holiday Cab Calloway Louis Armstrong Dinah Washington Bo Diddley Johnny 'Guitar' Watson Irma Thomas James Brown Aretha Franklin Jeff Beck Jimi Hendrix The Beatles - only if the audience shuts up so I can hear the music. The Rolling Stones Cream The Isley Brothers Janis Joplin Sly & The Family Stone Al Green Aerosmith Alice Cooper David Bowie Boston Electric Light Orchestra Frank Zappa George Harrison Joe Walsh Joni Mitchell Kansas Led Zeppelin - I had a ticket to see them in New Orleans, 1977. A few weeks before the show, Robert Plant's five year-old son died of an illness. The tour was cancelled. Mountain Pink Floyd Queen The Allman Brothers Thin Lizzy Triumph Buddy Miles Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush Pat Travers Stevie Ray Vaughan The Cars Tom Petty Stray Cats Talking Heads Smashing Pumpkins Tool Veruca Salt Lenny Kravitz No Doubt Rage Against The Machine Soundgarden Audioslave Gin Wigmore Luella & The Sun Muddy Waters Willie Dixon Buddy Guy Albert King Howlin' Wolf John Lee Hooker Lonnie Johnson T-Bone Walker Bonnie Raitt Willie Nelson Johnny Cash Dwight Yoakam Iris Dement
From your list, Deb, I've seen...
Styx 1980 Billy Squier / Ratt 1984 Robin Trower 1985 & 1987

Elvis in the mid-1950s.
The Beatles at the Cavern Club or in Hamburg. (I saw them at a baseball stadium in 1966 – great, but hardly an intimate venue.)

It sounds like you should really get a new keyboard soon though or all of the buttons might stop working next. I have seen The Eagles, The Who and Judas Priest in concert when they toured here in Australia a few years back and all three bands were really good and The Eagles sounded awesome live and I got to see the late Glenn Frey before he passed.

They got back together around a decade ago when they were inducted in the Canadian Hall of Fame and they played a couple of shows in Canada and released an album full of re-recordings of their greatest hits which included a cover of 'The Everly Brothers' song, 'Love Hurts' but they sadly didn't release any new material after that and broke up again. White Lion also got back together around the same time and released a new album but I think they broke up again 'cause Mike Tramp is releasing solo albums. Helloween still tours a lot though and frequently releases albums but while I don't mind Andi Deris I would much rather see them with Michael Kiske.

That's actually why I left the Beatles off the list 'cause if I had been alive to see them in the 60s I think I would have only been seeing them and not hearing them. I would have liked to have seen John Lennon and George Harrison though. I saw Paul McCartney and seen Ringo Starr multiple times solo and with his band which included Todd Rundgren, Steve Lukather and Richard Page among others. What were Styx like live back then? Did Dennis or Tommy perform the most songs or were the songs split evenly between the two?

I think I might have listed too many but I often get carried away with artists and bands 'cause I love music and have a huge collection of albums of heaps of artists and bands ranging from all different genres. Judging on some of the bands you have told me you like I would suggest you check out Work of Art, H.E.A.T., Issa, Sonic Station, State Cows, Houston, Brother Firetribe, Eclipse, Chasing Violets, XOrigin and Last Autumn's Dream, AOR and Find Me to name a few I listed above. They are all new AOR/Melodic Rock bands who have been around for the past decade and are very similar to bands like Journey, Heart, REO Speedwagon, Toto, Night Ranger and Triumph. This is the latest song by Issa from her upcoming album.

Did Dennis or Tommy perform the most songs or were the songs split evenly between the two? It's difficult to say. It was so long ago that I don't recall every song they played. And there were a few I didn't recognize. It was the Paradise Theatre tour, so the stage was decorated to look like the album cover. My wife was a bigger fan and they played a lot of the songs both of us were hoping to hear. It was a pretty good show. It was a modest venue which was sold out. Probably about 10,000 satisfied fans. The songs I do remember were...
Suite Madame Blue Mademoiselle The Grand Illusion Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man) Come Sail Away Miss America Blue Collar Man Renegade Babe Too Much Time on My Hands Rockin' the Paradise
I'm a bit jealous that you got to see McCartney.

Yeah I remember they played the Rocklahoma fest in 2008. I have the bootleg on cd. Crappy sound quality though. Oh well. There was a show I went to in 2007 I think it was that had Poison headlining, with Ratt, and White lion opening up. Sadly White lion did not make it that night so they threw in a replacement. They never came back again so I never saw them. But I did see Mike Tramp do a solo acoustic set at a bar last year and I enjoyed that. Helloween is coming to my area in the fall I think. My friends are going and I guess I could still go if it's not sold out.

I shall check those bands out you mentioned I have a lot of CDs, records and cassettes and I bought a lot of the albums I have on records and cassettes on CDs again 'cause I listen to CDs the most and could add them to my Media Player and IPod. I was keeping a list of all the albums we own and it is well over 5000 now but I am months at least a year behind updating it and will have to add all the albums I got last year when I have some free time.
