"Holy Mackerel. Do you think I want to haul a woman around?...Because the Public, bless 'em, must have a pretty face to look at...Well, isn't there any romance or adventure in the world without having a flapper in it?...Makes me sore. I go out and sweat blood to make a swell picture and then the critics and the exhibitors all say, 'If this picture had love interest it would gross twice as much.' All right. The Public Wants a Girl, and this time, I'm gonna give 'em what they want."

The only negative for me is Faye's excessive scream time.

10/10. This word gets thrown around way too much but in this case it is well deserved; MASTERPIECE!

Primitive though the special effects might be, they still dazzle me. (Same with Forbidden Planet.)

Great matinee movie! The special effects are offcourse dated, but that is part of it's charm now.
How on earth did an Afro-American tribe happened to be so far from the African continent?
Why do they kill so many thought dead speciments on their way to save Fay Wray, wouldn't they too be worth saving for the afterworld?
I Know, It's only a movie!

Movies like this live on their special effects, and they have become too lousy. But the invention of icon scenes like the fight on/around the Empire State Building have become classics beyond pop-culture.

A Legendary, alas I've never been a fan of Kong proper. I dunno, giant apes never appealed to me.

I'm pretty sure they weren't an Afro-American tribe. More like just an African tribe.

How on earth did an Afro-American tribe happened to be so far from the African continent? They are supposed to be Andamanese or close relatives. If you look at pictures of them (living on isolated islands--they don't like outsiders and will shoot poison darts at them) they do look African and are said to have migrated from Africa thousands of years ago.

The "primitive" special effects in this film still look more realistic to me than the CGI effects of most modern movies. When KK first crashes through the bushes and approaches Fay Wray, it's still a frightening moment, and the gorilla-dinosaur wrestling match never gets old.
