Fuck no!
That's like saying Batman and Robin is better than The Dark Knight.

AoU is a good film and gets way too much hate than it deserves. That said, it's nowhere close to IW.

I'd also like to say that I think Ultron is probably the best and most well written villain any comic book movie. He's easily better than Ledger's Joker or Darth Vader.

I respectfully disagree. AOU was fine but it ranks near the bottom in my ranking of the MCU whereas IW ranks at the top.

Do you see the beauty of it? The inevitability? You rise, only to fall. You, Avengers... you are my meteor, my swift and terrible sword, and the Earth will crack with the weight of your failure. Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me - it means nothing! When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world... will be metal.
As much as I loved Infinity War, it didn't have anything as good as this.

The Bruce/Natasha scene on Hawkeye's farm is better than anything in Avengers: Infinity War in my opinion. That is the scene I hated the most! I don't want to see insincere rom-com nonsense in what should be an escapist superhero film. That Black Widow-Hulk romance is so phoney, worthy of an Airplane! style parody.

It seems to me that AoU got hate for a lot of things that weren't really a big part of the movie, like setting up Black Panther and Thor Ragnarok, but at least it was a full film on its own. It actually has a set up and an ending, characters actually have something resembling an arc rather than just showing up for their turn to fight. I've always loved Age of Ultron, yet I'd not say 'much' better. A+ Ultron A+ Infinity A Avengers I watched The Avengers again this week, it feels quaint now. It will never again feel like the grand superhero party it once did. That's fine, it's still excellent. I realized that's probably going to be the trend. The MCU will feel most relevant when bookended between 2 Avengers films. Years down the road when they pull the trigger on Avengers 5, it'll be Age of Ultron which will feel less attached. That's fine. It's like how it is in the comics, & these are comic book movies n'est pas.

At least Thanos goal was to bring balanced to the universe.

Hawkeye: Hey, look at me. It's your fault, it's everyone's fault, who cares. Are you up for this? Are you? Look, I just need to know 'cause, uh, the city is, is flying... look, okay? The city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense. But I'm going back out there 'cause it's my job. Okay? And I can't do my job and babysit. Doesn't matter what you did, or what you were. If you go out there, you fight, and you fight to kill. Stay in here, you're good. I'll send your brother to come find you. But if you step out that door…you are an Avenger. Alright, good chat. Yeah, the city is flying.
Here's some more dialogue that couldn't be matched by anything in Avengers 3.

Having watched Ultron again recently, I'm beginning to think that some or all of Clint's family esp the children will have perished via Thanos. That would be a rather heavy dramatic push for the rest of them still on Earth.
