YouTuber Nando v Movies quite liked Wonder Woman but they feel that the biggest problem was the villains and its ending, in this two-parter below he attempts to improve Ares and Dr. Poison and their role in the narrative.
Thoughts and opinions? Wonder Woman was one of my favorite films of last year, but I must admit they could've done more with its villains like Ares and Dr. Poison. I do agree Dr. Poison could've been developed better and made more sympathetic, and I liked the twist with Ares but the revelation was too quick and they disposed of him too fast.

They didn't have to make Ares and the general two separate characters. Danny Huston was more fun to watch than David Thewlis, who could have been a different villain like Hades later down the line.

They didn't have to make Ares and the general two separate characters. that would have been against the point. It demonstrated that the source of evil can be within your own ranks, not with the cliche German pseudo-proto-Nazi. Further, the twist illuminated that the source of evil is not attributable to one person, but caused by the duality of human nature, something " no hero can defeat". It's clever writing, not directed at CMB manchildren but to draw in audiences that would usually not enjoy a CBM.

You can make the same point about humanity without such a convoluted reveal for an underwhelming character. It's why Alexander Pierce was a better example of the same type of character.

Wish those two would have had like an epic swordfight!

If you mean CGI laden and cartoonishly over-the-top: That is a very valid criticism in view of the tone and subject matter of the film.
I personally had preferred the "anti-climactic" solution that WW found Ares the old gods dead and decayed for centuries, and thereby realizing that they were subject to the same flaws, ambiguity and weaknessess that now motivate humans. But I know it's still a CBM, there needs to be a bad guy fight at the end.

Yeah I was referencing dragon Ball. That end fight was very animeish, to me at least. But yeah they spent like a large portion of the film grounding her in this world and than at the end Patty was like "fuck it! Diana watches Steve die and than goes Super Saiyan!" Still like the film, but I wish the end fight was handled differently.
