it's the last resort for creative CMB-filmmaking after X-Men have been sold and neutered.

it's the last resort for creative CMB-filmmaking after X-Men have been sold and neutered. WB doesn't give their directors full creative control. Just ask David Ayer.

Not sure how I feel about this. His last good film was Return of the King.

There's a difference between being interested and actually wanting to, and rumor and fact. As it stands it is only RUMORED that Peter Jackson is INTERESTED in doing a DC movie, this does not mean he will in fact do one if its true at all.
Also, having high profile directors come in and direct a comic book feature which is supposed to be part of a shared cinematic universe is not the best course of action to take for a studio as they'd prefer making movies their own way and not be bogged down to continuity or consistency. And whether or not Jackson would be a good fit for what they have in mind or what he might want to do is another matter in and of itself -
As things are Warner Bros. seems to be guessing as to who would fit which project based on the icing of the cake instead of the cake itself. Take for instance they attempted to seek out Michael Bay to direct a Lobo movie, that might've worked if they were wanting the Pain & Gain and Bad Boys Michael Bay to direct but given the rumored budget at the time was over 200+ million it would seem that they wanted the Transformers and Armageddon Michael Bay for the job and think Lobo is perfect for consumer friendly, PG-13 action spectacle so while Bay is unlikely to ever sign on( he's turned down plenty of superhero movies in the past before and after the superhero movie boom of the 00's) they still aspire to go in that kind of direction. That is not exactly ideal for Lobo, he is more of a niche character who at best only deserves a 19-36 million dollar budget with a hard R rating: Save that 200+ million budget on a DC character who actually is a big player in that universe and is guaranteed easy money.

WB doesn't give their directors full creative control. False. Just ask James Wan. Exception, not the rule. David Ayer was given two weeks to figure out and scratch out a first draft of Suicide Squad and months before release, out of panic in response to BvS, Warner Bros. ordered re-shoots to brighten the mood and hire the guys who cut to latest trailers to edit the movie. Then you have the whole Justice League debacle...They forced Snyder to condense it to a one part instead of a two parter like it was initially planned and they heavily trimmed and reshot his version of the film. Both Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher were disappointed by how WB mistreated Snyder's vision of the film and didn't like what Joss Whedon did, and based on his VERO feed Snyder is not fond of the whole matter either hence why he's always sharing stills from HIS cut of the film and gone on record to say he has not seen the movie that was released now. Whedon isn't fond of his cut either; he even liked a Tweet or two that disowned the film and its villain Steppenwolf.

Ew, not a fan of Jackson. He'd better do his Middle Earth TV show.

Give him Justice League 2 or Man of Steel 2 I think they should give him something that hasn't been handled yet. An Etrigan movie? Martian Manhunter? Hawkman and Hawkgirl could be epic. Legion of Superheroes.
