Mayo haters are whinny little kids. They don't like something but have to think about mayo 100 times.
By the way I don't like Mayo that much. Peri peri suacse does the job for me.

A store bought mayonnaise is most oftenly disgusting, like Hellmanns as they contain sugar (who the f***k got it into their heads to put sugar in it?), but a homemade mayonnaise is delicious, so I make my own. Have you tried homemade? I haven't. But whenever I'm at a restaurant and something contains some special variety of mayo (presumably made on site) I usually like it.

well miracle whip has high fructose corn syrup which is corn starch and then more corn starch that is modified.
and hellmans has sugar which they say like 54% of that sugar is from beets.
and as you know the way they order their ingredients is most% goes first and so on...
miracle whip
hellmans:
so there is more sugar in miracle whip. so i don't know why people are pissed off that there is 'sugar' in hellmans when what the hell do you think hfcs and more corn starch is?

Or I live in another country where we don't have miracle whip (and when I googled it, it proved to be a sallad dressing and not mayo). And perhaps I compare real mayo to the fake one you buy in the shops? What do you think?

What do you think? you are so not missing anything without miracle whip. i think other countries have something called salad cream which is basically miracle whip. like miracle whip was the closest we in America could get our hands on salad cream until only a few years ago. it is sweeter, zestier [which i wouldn't mind so much].

Many, many years ago, I used to hate Mayo as well. Then I got married and my wife and I were shopping and she picked up some Mayo. I told her I hated the stuff and she asked me what kind. I said I don't know....Miracle Whip, I guess.....she said...That's not Mayo, it's some kind of imitation spread.
To make a long story short....I tasted Hellman's for the first time and I was astonished....and never looked back....or would I buy anything else...ever.

I have made my own, and it is good. However, while I like Mayo, I don't often use it in the amount that makes it worth the effort, before it loses freshness.
I grew up on "Best Foods," ("Hellman's" of the west), and use it most often. "Miracle Whip," has no sharpness/tang to it. If it includes that much more sugar, that may be the reason.

big fan of duke's Must be strictly American. I've never seen it in Canada. I'd never seen it, either. I just looked it up, and under Where to Buy, it came up "no stores in your area" ... northern California. The map included all of California, southern Oregon, Nevada, Arizona. So, it's not a west/southwest item.

I'm not ready to say I hate it. Though for decades I wouldn't touch the stuff. Then I started to like it on certain things, and now I rarely touch the stuff again.

Homemade is too much trouble for the small amount I use. Preference is often family determined. MOM was a Miracle Whip user and did not like Mayo I use MW because it's what I was raised using. My sister won't touch MW because Mom was a MW user.
Love these DEEP think pieces of yours @forceghostackbar

Used to hate it as a pup...
Now, I don't really mind the stuff on my sandwiches... same with Miracle Whip.

President Ackbar™Any kind of "sauce" on a burger is Indeed Hysteria Inducing. Ketchup (catsup) is ok BUT only if self applied. Ditto salsa. Mustard on a burger
