I was glad they killed Lucifer, he was getting old.

Pretty underwhelming (then again, that's how I've felt about the show for many seasons now. I keep toughing it out since I've stuck with the show this far and occasionally they have a 'good' episode). That^ was the only 'good' part of the episode, I thought. The Dean/Michael vs Lucifer fight on wires was...not so good. I questioned Michael's (in Dean's body) choice of hat at the end. It worked for Sean Connery's character, Malone, in The Untouchables...I'm not sure if it worked so well for Jensen Ackles. I was surprised - and relieved - that Mary managed to survive (I realise I'm probably one of the few who feels this way), as I've been expecting the show to off her again ever since they brought her back. This didn't really feel like a 'season final' to me. The earlier seasons' finals felt far more 'epic'. Can't say I'm anxiously awaiting the next season, but hopefully Jensen Ackles gets to have some fun with playing Michael and they don't undo it as quickly as they undid Demon Dean (Deanmon?). I think 'Scoobynatural' was probably the most enjoyable episode of the season for me personally.

Honestly, it was mixed.
Good:
Lucifer is dead! I hope he's gone for good.
Sam and Jack's bond. Heartwarming.
Bad:
The cheesy 'wire-fu' where Jensen and Mark hung like pinatas, followed by the flying squirrel leaps and much flailing of limbs.
The final shot of Jensen dressed as a Peaky Blinders character, then the freeze-frame shot with the blue laser eyes. Was I supposed to laugh out loud at how dumb that looked?

The ending was disappointing but I didn't mind this season. I thought it was a lot better than some of the previous seasons of 'Supernatural' and I liked the additions of Jack and the alternate universes, the heaven is imploding storyline, Gabriel, Charlie (alt) and Bobby (alt) returning and the alternate universe version of Michael. I have been saying for years they should bring Michael back 'cause he is the most powerful of all archangels and was the one who kicked Lucifer out of heaven but I thought they would have had the crazy Michael in the cage return and want to become the new God. I am curious at to where they are heading with these storylines next season. The alternate universes give them a chance to bring a lot of old characters back and I read Crowley could be in an episode next season and I think it would be fun if they went with a good Crowley who is a hero 'cause it would be different than what we have seen with the character before and I would also like to see different versions of Ruby and Jo. One thing that is certain Chuck is coming back. The actor confirmed it not long ago and I think both God and Amara will come back to stop Michael and one of them will go up to heaven at the end to stop it from imploding and all the souls crashing down to earth. With no Lucifer or Gabriel they are the only two who are powerful enough to stop Michael and take him out of Dean's body without killing Dean.
With the 'Wayward Daughters' spinoff not happening now I heard parts of the spinoff are going to be integrated into 'Supernatural' now and characters like Claire and Alex will be appearing more which makes sense with Dean possessed by Michael. Sam and Castiel are going to need all the help he can get.

This season was pretty underwhelming compared to last season, which had its own problems as well. I feel like the writers introduced a bunch of storylines only to have them fizzle out.
- Asmodeus. I'm more or less content with how they ended him, but I think he was a fairly laughable villain. The other three Princes were far more compelling. He was like an evil Colonel Sanders out to fry angels for bucket wings. He didn't have much to do, other than re-introduce Gabriel.
- Ketch. Of all the people to put on a redemption arc, I wasn't expecting Ketch. I'm not getting attached to the character. I'm half expecting Dean to start warming up to him. And just when he starts calling him family or something, Ketch will meet a grizzly death. Also, Ketch was on a manhunt for Rowena and he doesn't mention needing/wanting her anymore later in the season.
- Rowena. After she unbound her magical barriers and started glowing purple, I thought up better stories and ideas than what was ultimately done with her. All of that potential was squandered away her very next episode and now she is more or less the same ally as before. I don't quite understand the need to formally have her join the team when she pretty much helped them out for big things the last 3 seasons. Disappointing to know that Sam will eventually kill her, and I'm hoping that the writers are not intending to kill Rowena for a third time.
- Sister Jo. Another interesting subplot that fizzled out. I liked the idea of an angel that worked for herself.
- Angels are endangered. Introduced way late in the season and basically contributed nothing in the finale. I find it hard to believe that there are just 9 angels left. I have a feeling that more will be created. It would be pretty ballsy to completely get rid of angels and heaven altogether. I don't think the writers have it in them.
- Apocalypse World. It was depressing and we didn't really see much of it other than forest and refugee-type camps. I would have liked to see more alternate versions of other characters or more of the monsters in that world.
- Lucifer. So glad the character is finally dead. I hope he's gone for good. Can't stand him. The wire fight was hilariously awful though. I'm sure the actors had fun doing it and that's all I could take away from it.
- Jack. I think he and Mary were basically thrown to the side the back half of the season and didn't really do much. I wish we saw more of their time in Apocalypse World. I don't know how to feel about Jack losing his powers unless that was a way to end his story and write him off to live far away as a normal human. I don't find Jack all that interesting to begin with so I'm definitely not interested in seeing him powerless.
- Michael/Dean. Predictable cliffhanger. I'm already expecting Dean to be rid of Michael by episode 2 or 3. I thought the last shot was awkward and cringeworthy.
