Two fourth installments in a franchise (and 10 years apart ironically, 1987 and 1997 respectively) that practically ruined the comic book character. Both are also DC movies. Which do you prefer over the other if you had to choose?
For me, I would go with Superman 4, as it isn't too bad since we still had most of the original cast anyway. Batman & Robin had a good cast, but man they were executed horribly in the film itself. Both are definitely guilty pleasures, though, and they can be enjoyed when you just turn off your brain and laugh at the stupidness of it all.

Both are so terrible that they're actually ridiculously entertaining, but I went with Batman and Robin.
I can sit down and Mystery Science Theater the hell out of both of these movies and have a great time.

Superman IV: The Quest for Peace sounds awful but it sounds like it was just saddled with a low budget and had an idea that fit Superman's ideals but it was just too preachy. I hadn't seen it yet. Batman & Robin however is a cynical and mindless toy commercial that doesn't understand Batman while wanting to be a big budget version of the same camp interpretation which at the least did understand Batman.

Superman IV: The Quest for Peace was somewhat respectable to the character of Superman and what he stood for, and Nuclear Man wasn't that bad of a villain. However, the writing, special effects, and the action sequences was completely lacking. I prefer it over Batman & Robin.

Batman and Robin is fun to watch with someone for a laugh.
Superman 4 was just lame.

I gotta go with Superman IV. Chris Reeve as Superman is still near and dear to my heart.

They are both equally bad. Iron Man 3 bad.

They are both equally bad. Iron Man 3 bad. I wouldn't put IM3 up there whatsoever. But to each their own.

Both are terrible, but I'll go with Quest For Peace as I find it slightly more tolerable.

Its not 100% clear what you're asking.
If you mean which is worse... then Batman and Robin is definitely worse.
Why? Because at least Quest for Peace was TRYING to be good.
Batman and Robin reveled in just how bad it was. It knew it was bad and it didn't care. I honestly believe Joel Schumacher was laughing at us.
What I'll never understand is how all the collective powers involved didn't stand up and say "Ok, lets rein this in a little." Schwarzenneger was a huge star at that point and should've been a little more concerned with his "brand" (between this and that pregnant movie he made his shit got fucked up), Uma Thurman was no slouch at that time, and George Clooney, while not the huge star he is now, still had enough clout to say something. They, plus the producers, could have saved that movie and not let it go completely off the rails the way it did.
They're both awful movies, but I have slight preference for Quest because at least the cast was back and trying.

To me, it comes down to Mariel Hemingway's legs or Uma Thurman's overall body. I can't decide.
