If that initial pitch for Green Lantern Corps is true. And they feature an older Hal Jordan training a younger John Stewart, he's definitely my first choice for Jordan.
To avoid what the 2011 film did, which was try to copy Marvel, I think what DCEU should do is make GLC sort of a mix between Men in Black and Lethal Weapon. A buddy film but as a space opera. That'd be cool.

Or he can be Alan Scott and so they don't have to age up a character.

Yeah, that's more like it! Then he demands they hand in their rings. Then they crack the case that it was really Officer Sinestro (played by Jonathan Banks) the whole time!

I still wish he would have played Iron Mang.

I still wish he would have played Iron Mang. He'd have been a solid plan B choice for the part. But I'm glad it was RDJ.

I still wish he would have played Iron Mang. Kinda feel like it would turn out like The Mummy. The closest we'll get to him being Iron Man is Edge of Tomorrow and that exo suit.

@red Ackbar and ThatGuy, I do actually think with Cruise if he got the part then he would play it completely straight; basically Ethan Hunt but he's a tech billionaire now with a bit of that braggadocio from Top Gun and Days of Thunder. Since the Mission: Impossible movies are just basically superhero movies by way of the spy-fi genre, it wouldn't be so far removed from his wheelhouse.

I was gonna put an either/or on that but didn't know how to say what I meant. I don't think I'd have wanted Iron Man to be Mission: Impossible-esque back then. And I did think of "maybe if he did it in the time between Top Gun and Days of Thunder." That was the time when he was at his cockiest (Cocktail, The Color of Money, Rain Man, maybe even A Few Good Men).
But Green Lantern could have used some of that Maverick from back then.

I hate to say this but Cruise is not Cruise anymore, Scientology ruined him. DC needs to focus on what they have or are trying to have.
Scorsese's Joker film
Spielberg's Blackhawk
Reeves Batman
Peter Jackson's untitled movie.
I will like to see Cruise in a DC film but not jumping of my chair about it.

My ultimate choice is Chris Pine, unfortunately he's Steve already in WW though (kind of a waste, just like Idris with Heimdall in the MCU)

Tom Cruise has got too much sense to jump aboard a sinking ship.....unless it's for a stunt in MI7.

Sounds kinda like the Ant-Man movie. Yeah, Cruise would be good. He basically IS the Hal Jordan of Hollywood, at least when it comes to stunts.
