I never saw this.
Tonight I flipped past it twice ( on HBO )
Both times were extended scenes of SM crashing, falling, getting knocked around like a complete idiot.
It actually reminded me of a Wile E. Coyote cartoon.
Who would even think this is funny? A five year old?
Is the entire movie that stupid?
/rant

Yes the movie is literally 133 minutes of Spider-Man crashing, falling and getting knocked around like a complete idiot.

And...crash & burn is something Peter does in the comics. It's sort of his thing. Humanity. His life isnt perfect. I feel the movie captures it very well. Peter in comics fails to study for a test because he's fighting a bad guy. Peter misses a date because he's fighting a bad guy. Peter has no clothes to wear on his date because he was fighting bad guys all week & never had time to do laundry. In the movie this happens. He tries to date a girl, only to discover her father is a bad guy. He beats the vulture at great cost to himself. Holland captures that aspect of Parker very well. Peter is a good kid who does all this stuff to help others, but in the end he gets the short end of the deal

It is a very VERY forgettable movie. I honestly have no clue how people think it beats the Raimi trilogy.

I liked it. I thought it was better than The Amazing Spider-man movies but I don't think it was as good as the Raimi Spider-man movies.

He's doing well in school (he's on the Academic Decathlon Team so he has to have good grades to be on the team), he doesn't have to work, he gets invited to parties and has a date with a girl he's crushing on for the Homecoming Dance, and Aunt May gets free meals in restaurants.

I would try watching it. It's an enjoyable film but it ranks in the near the top middle of the MCU for me. Probably number 10.

The complete lack of Spidey's familiar mythology is jarring. No Harry. No Bugle. No JJJ. No Uncle Ben. No elderly May. No MJ. No Gwen.
Instead we get Iron Mang and Peter's fanboy obsession to please Tony Stark.

No, Peter Parker does not have a perfect life in Homecoming. Its High School. The Raimi films are college Peter. Not all high school kids have jobs.
