Hi everyone.
I can't remember if this was the 70s or 80s, but I'm pretty sure it was the 80s. A woman is stalked by some psycho in a van who plays a tape with weird music as he stalks and kills people. It wasn't quite "Duel" with a female lead, but it was definitely inspired in some way, as I remember there being similarities, other than the stalking.
I could have sworn the lead actress was Kate Jackson or Cheryl Ladd, but nothing of the sort is listed in their IMDb credits.
Anyone else remember this? Or more importantly, remember the name of it?

Nope. The killer in the van was a major plot point. All the stalking was done from the van.

No, it's not Night Drive, the movie was mostly a daylight thing. Also, no cops were killed. It was a psycho stalking women from a van.
And no, Manhunter isn't it either.

Death Car on the Freeway? It's a 1979 TV movie. It has a female lead. The lead is Shelley Hack of Charlie's Angels (which may be why you were thinking Kate Jackson or Cheryl Ladd). Plot Description: A unknown, psychotic driver uses his van to kill unsuspecting female drivers on the freeway.

When I saw the OP last night something rang a bell and I remembered Shelley Hack, but when I looked at her credits I couldn't find anything that seemed to match, so I moved on to other things. Must have been very tired and overlooked it. Congratulations for solving this one.

I love that movie. Always weird to see Frank Gorshin in a non-Riddler role.
