If Civil War is CA3, why can’t people just accept that there already is a MoS 2?

Hard to be satisfied when he has scarcely 40 lines and is killed off by the end.

Hard to be satisfied when he has scarcely 40 lines and is killed off by the end. I could be wrong, but I remember hearing Spider-Man had more dialogue in Civil War than Superman had in BvS.

Because it’s called Captain America 3: Civil War

Because it’s called Captain America 3: Civil War I should just point out that there was no ‘3’ in the title.

Yeah is that really true? I find that very hard to believe seeing as he was only in two scenes.

If Civil War is CA3, why can’t people just accept that there already is a MoS 2? Or maybe, Man of Steel is Justice League 1. MoS, BvS, and JL could be seen more as the Justice League trilogy instead of a Superman movie, a team-up and the Justice League event movie. We do get something that Batman is a thing in MoS.

If you want to think of BvS as MoS 2 go right ahead. Personally I think it's more interesting when filmmakers come up with different titles for their films rather than putting a number after it for their sequel.

Discounting it as a sequel to MoS just feels like damage control for the way the film treats Superman. The whole movie ties into the events of MoS, and every character's motivations sans perhaps Diana's revolve around Superman.

Yeah is that really true? I find that very hard to believe seeing as he was only in two scenes. To be fair, how often did Superman actually talk in his scenes in BvS? He had a brief scene with Lois in the tub, some words with Bruce in Lex's party, a few words with his mom and uh... some more words with Lex and then Bats and WW later on? I mean, he had way more scenes than Spidey but he talked very little in those scenes. Spiderman had a whole conversation with Stark the first time they meet then he kept talking while fighting in the airport.

Well, to an extent yeah it is because it does explore his life and world after Mozs, but because they didn't write dialogue for Superman and didnt fully explore obvious consequences from MoS it doesn't feel like a proper proper sequel.
