I think Harrison Ford is too big a star to attend conventions. Though he did appear at Star Wars Celebration 2017. I don't think Ewan, Natalie, or Liam have appeared at a con. Maybe Comic-Con to promote a movie. Have not met anyone from A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and Halloween. Though that will change in March. Get to meet the killer from Friday the 13th: A New Beginning and Michael from the new Halloween. I did meet the cast from Evil Dead and Evil Dead II. Still bummed I missed a chance to meet the cast of Monster Squad. Have you seen Monster Squad? it's one of my favorite films from my childhoo and still holds up really well 30 years later. I was at a con last year that had Manu Bennett and Katie Lawless. Overheard a fan talking about how they were at a bar and Manu sat down next to them. If that had been me I would have fainted from excitement.

I couldn't tell if he meant Katrina Law, Katie Cassidy or Lucy Lawless all of whom Manu has worked with, so I didn't know did he mess up both names a little or one name entirely

I imagine somebody like him would want a lot of money to appear at a convention and I read somewhere recently he wasn't a big fan of the 'Star Wars' movies or his Han Solo character and wouldn't talk about them for a long time and it is only now he has warmed to 'Star Wars' again. It is funny how some actors can dislike roles they played that are really popular with fans and it is like artists and bands who dislike some of their biggest hits. I have heard some famous people charge a lot of money to get an autograph off them in America and I guess I am lucky 'cause I have never been charged for an autograph and the only time I have paid is when I have bought an album or a poster they have signed but not just for their signature alone. I have seen Ewan has been talking about the 'Star Wars' movies again in interviews and he is happy people are becoming more accepting of the prequels now and they are no longer as hated as they were before and I don't think they were ever hated and I have talked to far more people over the years that liked them than hated them and if they were hated they would have flopped big time.
That must have been fun meeting the cast of 'The Evil Dead 2' and did you meet Sam Rami too since he directed it or didn't he attend any of the cons? I haven't seen 'Monster Squad' but I have heard of it. I looked it up and there was a movie and a TV show and were the movie and TV show connected to each other?

Ford never loved the films or the character, he loved Indiana Jones and those films though, but for SW he was kind of critical even to the point he told Lucas on set something to the tune of you can write this bullshit all you want but I cannot/will not say it, he was asking for Han to get killed off as early as Empire I think, he also refused to say I love you too, to Leia instead saying I know which is now a "classic" Han line.
Makes sense when you think about it unlike the others Ford's star continued to rise after SW, he became a bonafide superstar and has had more serious and important roles, plus of all his known roles they were likely the least financially beneficial to him, if his deal was anything like Fishers where Lucas basically got them to sign over their likeness for eternity in regards to SW merch for little to no pay, plus Fords a well known grumpy old man regardless.

A lot of people, cast and crew, did not have high regards for Star Wars and thought it was just a dumb film for kids. Mark and Carrie also fought with George over dialogue. Harrison refused to wear his costume until a large blue collar was removed. Alex Guinness begged to have Obi-Wan killed. Even George Lucas became despondent and thought the movie would fail. The only person who enjoyed the film and had any faith in it was Peter Cushing. Who was disappointed his character was killed because he wanted to come back for sequels.

That is strange. Maybe he just wasn't a big Science Fiction fan and just like the Horror genre and the superhero genre up until recently there are some snobby people who look down on Science Fiction and don't view it as a legitimate genre and think movies like 'Star Wars' are immature and are made for children and perhaps Harrison Ford was always like that but liked the money he was getting for the 'Star Wars' movies so kept quiet about that. George Lucas must have liked him though to let him get away with being so critical of the movies and the lines Han Solo said 'cause that was before Harrison Ford was the star he was today and they replaced actors in old TV shows if they were difficult and I have even heard a few stories about actors being replaced in movies made in the 50s and 60s 'cause they were a nightmare to work with but they weren't sequels. I read Joan Crawford got fired from some movies and after seeing 'Mommie Dearest' I can see why.
Harrison Ford did go on to become a bigger star than the rest of the actors in the 'Star Wars' movies but I heard Mark Hamill's drinking and depression was what stopped his career from getting bigger and he was offered all these huge leading roles after 'Return of the Jedi' that could have made him as big as Harrison Ford but his drinking problems caused him to get replaced by other actors.

Genre fiction is not well received by older generations. Sure there are exceptions to the rule, but those born in the 70s and following decades are more accepting of genre fiction because we grew up on it.
I didn't know Mark had depression and a drinking problem. That's a shame and I am certain that went into stalling his career. He was probably typecast as Luke Skywalker. No one could see him as anything else and were reluctant to hire him.
