That's funny; Cody was telling us all lately that Islamophobia "does not exist" LOL
In any case, such a view by this broadcaster is just another form of political correctness. The fear, hatred and loathing of Islam exists and should be called out for what it is. This does not mean one can not have freedom of expression or the right to a view.

"Anti-Muslim hatred is on the rise in Britain, but people should not be called Islamophobic just for criticising elements of Islam, Maajid Nawaz says."
I'm fine with that (there are legitimate criticisms to be made), but I also believe people who criticize Christianity shouldn't be labelled "Christianphobes" (a term I'm sure you do want thrown around so you can play the victim)

I am all for the natural evolution of the English language and the way this happens is though common usage and it should not necessarily be 'prescribed' or proscribed.
People use words to express specific meanings and these tend to become understood by others with continuous usage.
It may well be that each word might acquire a specific meaning distinct from the other.

It is noticeable that the term is alive and well, even amongst respectable conservative Muslims in the UK.
I guess they didn't get the email.
