mcufanForgot about him/her until I saw some posts in an older thread. He/she disappeared earlier this year... Right around the same time Formersamhdmicable was banned...🤔 A sock account all along? 🤔🤔 Does Detective Ackbar do cold cases? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Makes sense, they were both (insert unpleasant plural noun).

In my interactions with him, MCU-Fan was far more likable than Sam ever was.

That they were a sock didn't cross my mind. Figured it was DC-Fan's good twin that was switched at birth and sent to be raised by billionaire philanthropists.

Actually, glancing over mcufan ’s posts, they’re not too dissimilar to our beloved DC-Fan’s. His/her/its last post reads, “James Gunn has said that Groot will have a slowed down growth in the movies. So that scene was already several years after GOTG 2“—a very DC-Fan-esque construction. Compare with this: In both we see the half-truth in the first sentence, followed by a second opinion statement beginning with “so.” It really doesn’t read like Archie, Raptor, or good ol’ Wellibers. DC-Fan is the best suspect from a graphanalytic perspective, but there are also some points against thinking he’s the one. Daisy’s a possibility too. This is fun... (And I found a good article about a famous criminal profiling case here.) EDIT: Also, I just saw that mcufan vanished about a month or so after Archie was banned. Another point, methinks, against its being Archie.

The same mcufan that defended Weirdtaptors racism of calling poelzig a monkey. Yeah, glad he tapped out and left.

- MCU fan was a big Star Wars fan and trolled the SW forums for long (until chased away by mock-threads about him, like the weirdraptor before) - DC fan does not give a Sith about SW - MCU fan was not a native speaker, DC fan is. - MCU fan is a statistical/technical guy (he correctly calculated/predicted a Bayesian-method film ranking) but sucked deplorably at cultural/educational stuff, whereas DC is more educated in history and culture (literature/mythology) but sucks at science/technical stuff. - DC fan is an American "sports" nut, MCU fan never uttered anything in this regard... - DC fan would not blatantly defend and enable racism, MCU fan did.
Ergo: DC fan is more likely to be my sock than MCU fan's...

I mean, I don’t really think mcufan was DC-Fan’s sock—there are other MCU-Fan writing quirks that tell against it—but, to play devil’s advocate for a bit, Tristan's Journal, I don’t think any of those characteristics are truly indicative one way or the other. If you’re going to go about the process of creating a sock, you probably don’t want “him” to have too many similarities to yourself. (It would probably be best for said sock to have some [few] similarities; a completely-different-in-every-way sock account might also give the game away.) And I haven’t observed the “so” sentence-structure with any other member here. (There is also, of course, the parallelism of the “fan” thing.) But, y’know, that doesn’t definitively mean anything either. We’re just speculating and guessing for fun… That’s why the Great Man is Detective Ackbar!

Another excellent analysis. I remember MCU Fan on the Star Wars boards. The only other user from here that trolled the Star Wars boards was FormerSam! Although, as you note MCU Fan clearly was not a native English speaker. Could this have simply been a trick employed by Sam to differentiate him from his sock? Though, if I recall, Sam sometimes sounded as if English were his second language as well.

Alas the Great Detective faked his own death and went undercover to infiltrate the ranks of an international sushi smuggling ring. Perhaps a return is imminent?

A fascinating report, Salzy! MCU Fan being DC Fan's sock would indeed be a shocking twist! Or the most obvious due to its mirror worldliness. I was going to mention that; actually, it could work both ways, as MCU Fan could have gone with (e.g.) the “so” construction to parody the way DC-Fan usually writes (as he/she/it [probably] meant to parody DC-Fan’s username). Or it could be a coinkydink. But I agree with the Great Detective that it would be a shooking twist!

A new development! I see that mcufan was online only eight hours ago… [Insert dramatic sound-effect noise here.] And now, as they say, “ Ze plot zickens.”
