It could have been worse, after Peter Parker died in Tony Stark's arms, Stark could have made a joke about another one biting the dust. That would have PERFECT.

They kept making the point that the place of Asgard is meaningless. Asgard is the people on that ship. It would take away from that message if they suddenly started acting against that. They were on their way to a new home.

First let me say that Ragnorockers is in my top five MCU movies. I'm a big fan. And although I do think the humor in the MCU can be excessive- it works in this movie and it works really really well. BUT... That one joke during the destruction of Asgard where Korg rambles on about how it can be rebuilt and then, when it explodes says "Oh those foundations are gone. Never mind!" is my most hated joke in the entire MCU. If there should ever be a serious moment in a Thor movie it's the destruction of Asgard, his home and kingdom. You'd think Marvel would recognize this and actually let the moment play with actual emotion! But NO! God forbid these movies have anything serious in them! We can't let the dim witted audience get confused by emotion! We can't trust that they just might be mature enough to handle it! We can't risk anyone actually feeling anything! They might get scared and refuse to see our next movie... So let's ruin this would be powerful moment with a lame stupid completely gratuitous JOKE! TERRIBLE!!!!!@!!!&!1 APPAULING!!!!$!!!6!!!!2 HORRENDOUS!!!!!!€£¥!!!% Again, I do absolutely love this movie. But that joke is fucking unforgivable. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. As if anyone could stop me! (this last line is an inside joke for BATouttaheck ) Just your typical mcu nonsense. and this is the movie thatguy once attempted to argue, the movie made people forget about Logan. LMAO.
hahaha. even in 2008, iron man making people forget TDK was a little easier to buy from The mcu fanatics not freaking Jorknork. This is how a real thor movie should have been. When Rohan was getting destroyed. even freaking King Theodan was afraid, it is not lame Jokes.

They were on their way to a new home. WHAT?! The place is what Thor sacrificed to save his people! Of course it's important! You're saying Thor shouldn't have showed any emotion about it?!

Yeah I've mentioned this particular scene in the past. I get that Ragnarok was just a zany comedy but the destruction of their home world is not the place for a joke. At that point there truly are no stakes and it practically renders the entire story meaningless. Love the film, hate the forced humor at that moment.

One of the reasons it bothers me so much is because I really do love the movie. It's one of my top five MCU flicks. And the movie did let serious moments play with emotion early on: Odin's death scene is excellent with some great moments with Thor and especially Loki. No jokes there, the way it should be.

I agree the joke shouldn't have been there but I'd say Ragnarok is still good despite the humor. Not the best but still good. No need to turn this into another anti MCU and pro X Men thread.
