" He believes that digital distribution and cloud gaming will be the future."
And gaming becomes an entirely ephemeral medium where nobody actually owns anything and nothing is preserved for the future.
Oh well, I still have my NES carts.

A digital/streaming future means your gaming collection will be obsolete after a period of 10 years or so. Online Game services only have the servers up for so many years, plus licenses to stream those games can expire too. What happens if a company goes under? Will you lose the ability to play those games? What if I have 1000+ games downloaded then what will happen to them when PSN and Xbox Lives gets shut down? Am I fucked or what? There are just so many negative aspects to this that it's bound for disaster.
