How much do you want to bet that a fair amount of these movies will still be directed by white men? They will continue to be directed by some men--in the executive board rooms. But it depends what you mean by white. If you mean the decisions will be made by western European white men. Not a chance.
Even Ron Howard has to follow instructions by the executives. Follow the money.
Isn’t Kevin Feige a white man of European descent?

Isn’t Kevin Feige a white man of European descent? Maybe, but he is not in charge-Disney's executive board is. Kathleen Kennedy is not in charge either (when she wanted more time to finish TFA, Iger overruled her and Abrams).
Notice that Pixar is going to continue without John Lasseter?
That is because ultimately it is Disney's head office that makes all decisions.
They have yet to miss a release date when they fire a director either. They always make the scheduled release date because all the intended elements were determined months ago by the Disney executive board. They just pretend directors have autonomy. Just PR bullshit.

In that case, wouldn’t it still ultimately be a white man (Bob Iger) who’s in charge?

Oh come on. So now a director has to be a woman if characters are female? So if the characters are black the director must be black? I guess we dont need to worry about white males since they wont show them much in the future.
It is all about socio-political agendas. Disney is the most direct and upfront with its cultural Marxism. I know people will keep saying it is about money-but if that was true, they would seek to create content specifically for "Red states" at the same time they seek to make content for Asia (or so they claim). Then they could double their profits. But they won't do that because they do not want to promote traditional anything. This is just part of the Disney owners' plan to make a future where someone like Walt Disney cannot succeed. Do you really think Black Panther would have come out the same if the director was white? Do you really think a person not of that culture would research that culture to that extent? Or would they just go the bare minimum? Do you think a male director would give Wonder Woman her due? Or do you think a male director would Michael Bay/Zack Snyder the movie full of upskirt and ass shots?

But then it proves the aim is to erase white males from these films and focus only on select demographics--while marketing them to the masses.
Even with Bay and Snyder, it is the executives of the companies who finance their films who choose to give them jobs and filter out others.
They decide what gets made and by whom.

No director has autonomy. Well, unless they are making an independent movie or own the studio. You get stories from all studios of executive interference.

Not really. It just proves the aim is to have more than white males as the select demographic.
So you are saying that it is those executives that make them put in upskirts and ass shots?

What are you talking about? Of course the studios decide what stories get greenlit. They are paying for it. When has that been any different on anything?

The executives have crude tastes. Even more crude than your average construction worker I would wager.
And you cannot please all audiences at once. Something has to be removed if something else is added. In this case, white male authority figures or strong heroic white male leads.

The difference comes on who gives the money and who the audience is. In the case of Walt Disney--his audience was people of his heritage--white western European, Christian. Modern Disney is least interested in that demographic.
Disney claims it wants to be entertainer to the globe--that means stripping down narrative content so it is bland enough to be accessible in all cultures. Yet, it was reported last year that Hollywood had the worst box office since 1992-last year was full of diversity--so how are they going to address this alleged financial crisis? By increasing the diversity even more.

Wait... so you want more movies for white people? Priceless.

Wait... so you want more movies for white people? Priceless. Given that Europeans invented film as well as the narrative structure of drama, why not? Should they be excluded?

I don't think it's fair to say that only a black director would take the time and effort to research about African culture when making a movie that includes African culture. Nor is it fair to insinuate that a director would have included a bunch of upskirts and ass shots just because he's male.

The priority should be who is the best candidate regardless of gender. I think women can be excellent directors, but let’s not assign gender quotas. Don’t make the Star Wars mistake 😂
