Still can't get over how universal failed at rebooting their Monster Universe.
Unbelievable...

Agreed, I was really looking forward to it. That Mummy movie was beyond terrible. Not even worth a rental? Judgment call. To me it felt like it was made in 1995. His comic sidekick is pointless because Cruise himself is also a jokester. There really isn't much to speak of storywise (and I don't want to spoil some of the creative choices that really bothered me). There's just nothing to this script, and the very few creative chances they took were plain awful.

Speaking of shared universes Toho might be getting not one but two Godzilla universes going but won't know for sure until after Godzilla vs Kong (2020)?
It would make more sense to keep the Monsterverse going so they can pump that money into their Tohoverse/Godzillaverse or what ever they plan to call it.
Its funny that Universal can't get their current Dark universe off the ground while Toho/WB/Legendary are possibly planning to do two new Godzilla universes at once.

Whoever put that page together needs to study their TV history more. It is missing the 'Happy Days' universe which comprised of 'Happy Days', 'Laverne & Shirley', 'Mork & Mindy' and 'Joanie Loves Charchi' which were some of the most popular TV shows of all time - well, apart from the last one that got cancelled.

It's also missing the Man About The House/Robin's Nest/George & Mildred (remade in the US as Three's Company/Three's A Crowd/The Ropers) though it seems a bit odd calling TV sitcom spin-offs "shared universes"

Yeah. He should be quite upset the Jimmy Olsen shared universe and the Batman/Green Hornet/Hogan's Heroes/Addams Family shared universe are missing.

Shouldn’t the Tarantino-verse count in there? His films are connected, too.

Do people still rent films? I’ve gotten a redbox movie with my kids a couple of times recently. Actually going to get the disc as its own activity is more fun than just streaming something.

As an ex-Tarantino obsessive, I really should know most of that. Thanks for the link...that was a pretty fun/interesting read.

Most of it you have to look for, but the threads still make for a sweet interconnectedness. I love how there is the “realer than real” and the ultra violent movies that exist within that world. 😄

Out of Sight had a spin-off series centered around the character Karen Sisco that lasted for one season in the early 00's where Carla Gugino took over for Jennifer Lopez, Gugino would later reprise the role on the FX series Justified which was also based on a work of Elmore Leonard. I think Get Shorty occupies the same space, too.
