stefancrosscoe I liked Humanoids From the Deep, but I only have the TV remake from 1996 on DVD. Never heard of Welcome to Spring Break, but it has a great premise/cast so I will make an effort to locate it. I can safely recommend the 2010 remastered and uncut DVD/Blu-ray copy of the Roger Corman's Cult Classic release, as that is surely a must have for fans of sci-fi related monster horror movies of the 70s and 80s. I did however recently own a copy of the 1996 remake but thought it was a very weak and uninspired release, and while not horrible it was something I knew early in, maybe within a few minutes that I would watch once, then never again. Welcome to Spring Break, (or to be fair I thought they should have stuck with the much cooler title of Nightmare Beach) was as I remember it, a large combination of slasher, teen-sex comedy added with some heavy tones of supernatural theme all into one cheesy but still enjoyable italian b-movie.

So nobody has heard of this movie: 1964, and Del-Aires sings The Zombie Stomp among other forgotten songs. They must have spent over 100 USD on the special effects!!

I watched The Horror of Party Beach last summer I think, or maybe the summer before, as part of my on-going quest to watch as many 60's beach movies as humanly possible. That photo is very flattering, I think maybe they spent only $50 on the monster, which may only be second to the Creature From the Haunted Sea for ridiculous cheapness. Great music though. I kinda liked the movie. I have an appreciation for such crap.

Has to be that all-time classic "Jaws".
I also love "Humanoids from the Deep" and "Blood Beach".

Who's the guy who voted for Psycho Beach Party over Jaws?

I recently had a re-watch of Welcome to Spring Break or Nightmare Beach, and while it did not exactly sit down as a "classic", I felt it was at times very entertaining and funny, specially the killer and his rather creative ways of dealing with his victims. Also, the whole teen-sex party horror vibe is quite something, and all these ridiculous smaller but very memorable roles that keep on coming back.
The whole thing is on Youtube, and the quality of both picture and sound, is far superior to my DVD copy, so the next time I will see it, I might just go online, instead of popping out my DVD.

I'll exclude any JAWS movies since they are obvious inclusions if we class them as Horror.
THE FOG (1980). DEAD AND BURIED (opening scene and coastal town setting). OPEN WATER THE BIRDS (it is a bay town!). THE REEF (2010). BLOOD BEACH I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER DEVIL FISH

Last night, I ended up watching halfway through the mini-series that I think is based on one of Peter Benchleys novels, and is called Creature (1985). It is about 3 hours long, and where Craig T. Nelson and Kim Cattrall must find a way to destroy a mutated shark, which was born through some experimental warfare stuff, back in the early 70s, but escaped into the ocean, and 25 years later on, it is back, angrier and hungrier than ever!
I remember watching it on norwegian television back in the late 90s and early 00s, specially during the summer, along with my dad. He loved the cheese and we both laughed out several times, of all the silly stuff that takes place, I mean, a "shark" climbing up the stairs, or up into the top of a three outside, it is just so many funny moments.
Of what I saw last night, I guess the qualification to enter into this thread as a "beach" themed movie, it is pretty much, well, there are some beach scenes, but not the kind of Baywatch similar huge beaches, but few and very short ones.
However, the movie or mini-series do have that adventurous and feel-good entertainment going, and Kim Cattrall sure looks good in that diving gear, and even better without it.

The Last Shark is very amusing for being such an unapologetic Jaws rip-off. i.e. Vic Morrow's Quint-ish portrayal.

Jaws of course followed by Humanoids From the Deep.

I saw "The Last Shark" when it first came out. It's a really bad movie with a very catchy score!

No love for "Horror of Party Beach"? That movie was a whole lot of dumb fun.
My other two picks would be "Jaws" and "Jaws 2".
