Not that 2-Headed Shark Attack (2012) or 3-Headed Shark Attack (2015) were any great cinematic masterpieces, but now we are getting a fourth movie, 6-Headed Shark Attack (2018). I didn't mention 5-Headed Shark Attack (2017) because I missed that one, kind of like how the series skipped right pass " 4-Headed Shark Attack." How can this thing even swim, let alone function in any way? Looks crazy, but you know what? I'll probably make time for it at some point!

I love a good monster movie, but we are in total retard mode with all these squidagator vs octopython stuff.
The makers aren't trying to do an interesting genre film-they are deliberately seeking to make something judged stupid. Part of the Mystery Science Theater effect on genre film. Bad trend.

It's difficult for me to get very interested in Asylum films.
They've done a couple that I thought were okay, but most of their stuff has been kinda crap.

They lure you in with the crazy concept...but that's all they ever seem to offer, no suspense or quality of any kind, just insta-schlock that will not last throughout the ages.

The Asylum claimed to be a profitable company due to brand confusion with its mockbusters but I suspect they are merely subsidized by wealthy friends and have enough connections in the corporate world to be left alone (barring on or two exceptions like the LOTR rip off lawsuit).
From interviews I have read with the executives as well as anecdotes I heard from filmmakers who knew them, they have contempt for genre film and pride themselves on making films as bad as possible.
Some of their titles are clever though.
I AM OMEGA was a clever mishmash title of I AM LEGEND and THE OMEGA MAN. I am surprised they avoided trademark problems with THE TERMINATORS.

Isn't this just like Gillette razor blades? They keep adding more blades to each new product.
Asylum deserve a kick in the nuts. I hate them.

Practical effects took skill, time and effort to construct, activate and execute. Bad CGI is too easy to create so the floodgates have opened in the name of "imagination". They can make a 52-headed prehistoric snakeshark just by tweaking templates created in the last few years.

But as for the OP's question, it's the wrong question. The question should be why NOT?

Well, I didn't see 6-Headed Shark Attack, at least not yet, but I did watch 5-Headed Shark Attack last night, and it was slightly better than the first two, whodathunkit?
Better CGI and pacing, there was even an attempt to portray grief/sorrow for friends who had been suddenly eaten, as opposed to the usual shoving the characters along to keep the plot working. It's not high art, but a slight improvement.
