While we’re on the subject of Batman Beyond, I don’t understand how people can be so forgiving over the fact that the show explicitly stated that Bruce and Barbara were involved at some point. Bruce Timm’s fetish for that pairing is just bizarre. Agreed there. Never cared for that. But it's not enough to bother me. Batgirl was an adult after all. And unlike for Dick, Bruce was never a father figure for her. Bruce was still essentially a mentor for her. Plus, there’s something kind of sleazy about Bruce sleeping with his adopted son’s ex girlfriend, especially given that he had known Barbara since she was a kid. It’s even sleazier when you recall that the first thing Bruce mentioned about Barbara in the DCAU was in regards to how much she had grown.

It might have been a reference to how Barbara WAS originally supposed to be a love interest for Bruce. Originally she was written as an older character around his age (Gordon is supposed to be as old as Thomas Wayne), a Congresswoman and stuff. Robin was written as a younger kid with no chance with her. Later on they de-aged her a bit while aging him up so it would be more acceptable when they chose to focus more on Catwoman and Talia as Bruce's big love interests.

I'll have to brush up on my BTAS. Oh well, any reason to rewatch it is a good one.

Oh that's a good one. Then again, the only one I really can't stand is "I've Got Batman in My Basement."

The Mr. Freeze Episode is my favorite and probably their best episode.

I love Batman Beyond especially the return of Joker movie. It sucks it only lasted 3 seasons the final ep was kind of a letdown I get the impression that the only reason people praise that movie so much is because of how “edgy” it is. I frankly think it’s pretty stupid. How anyone is able to take what the Joker did to Tim Drake seriously is beyond (no pun intended) me. I don’t know about you guys, but the image of a miniature Joker is absolutely ridiculous. That's the tone of batman comics,I swear people have been saying dark and edgy since Nolan made tdk movies its like these so called fans know little to nothing about batman. I love all the dc cartoons from the 90s and early 2000s,at least dc can still make some pretty cool animated flicks. If only Marvel could do that last good animated project from them was those Anime series, now they just make crappy spiderman cartoons and lego movies.

The show is even worse than I remember it being. The pacing is just sloppy, and it really seems like the show is desperate to try and seem hip and edgy. Seriously, “schway”? Why exactly do people love the show so much? I watch some clips on youtube but I usually skip entire episodes for the new batman animated series.
beyond may have its faults but it is still better than any marvel cartoon today.

I was never a big fan of the 'Batman Beyond' series and I say that as somebody who is a big fan of the Bat Family and has thousands of comic books and graphic novels of Batgirl, Nightwing, Batman, Birds of Prey, Teen Titans, Batwoman, Red Hood and the Outlaws, the Black Canary (Dinah Drake), the Huntress, Robin: Son of Batman, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Deathstroke, Anarky, Batwing, Talon, Midnighter, Red Hood/Arsenal, Azrael, Catwoman, Suicide Squad, Secret Six, Gotham City Sirens, We Are Robin, Grayson, Batman: Incorporated, Batman/Superman, Poison Ivy, GCPD, Gotham Central, Gotham City Garage and Gotham Academy along with a lot of other series that are part of the Bat Universe but I never found the lead character to be as interesting as the other characters.

I still wonder what they were thinking with that one. The almost tragic part of it is that I've Got Batman in My Basement was actually the very first episode of BTAS I ever saw. It almost turned me off completely. I figured the rest of the show was like that. Just kiddy and cheesier than The Superfriends. Fortunately, the next episodes I caught were Feat of Clay and I realized just how outstanding the series was.

It rocks! The soundtrack, the designs, the cool characters, the Bladerunneresque city-scapes, the interaction between Bruce and Terry, learning about the fate of old characters, Bruce’s dog, the new villains, The Jokerz gang. ITS ALL EXCELLENT.
It’s an easy watch late at night as you fall asleep.
