This is the movie that Godzilla (2014) should have been but never tried to be. A truly epic monster movie with worthy antagonists.
And the movie even comes with a not so subtle subtext.

i enjoyed a lot of it.
but still felt that it was made for kids.

Well man, it was made for kids, in spite of all the violence.
The anti imperialist aggression and anti war subtext in the backdrop of Nam was pretty obvious. SLJ also displays hostility to the journo played by Larson, who serves as the voice of the pacifists and the hippies.
Hell, the sequel caqn even be King Kong vs Godzilla vs Colonel Kurtz.

It was a good 6/10 movie. Certainly could've been better, though the director leaves a mark. The score and soundtrack should've been better. It still wasn't as fun as the trailers made it out to be but it still had it's moments. Samuel Jackson had a suprisingly great character, shame they decide to kill off some of the more interesting characters. It at least had decent amount of King Kong.

i really liked BRIE LARSON. she was sexy. but the film had nothing about kong's love for the female. i guess kids cannot be trusted with watching a big gorrilla ogling at a semi naked female.

One of the reasons is perhaps how the previous film was rabidly attacked for having a lot of 'romantic scenes' involving Kong and Watts. And it was the adults who were angry.
