I won't even bother making it OFFICIAL since there hasn't been any threads trying to claim some hokey movies have emotional scenes in them (at least none I've seen). I usually save the OFFICIAL when the board is flooded with praise for crappy movies.
These are just the ten I find most emotional, with the best theatrics, for various reasons. There are probably a couple of hundred valid scenes that could be named in major productions.
Execution scenes have an unfair advantage, so I limit that to two scenes, the two stick out execution scenes. I give honorable mention to the original Red Dawn and to Paths of Glory.
Other honorable mentions are obvious scenes from All Quiet on the Western Front, Jungle Fighters, Flesh+Blood, and Von Ryans's Express
So, the countdown:
#10. Tragic war endings have such an edge that I only include two. This one is a "must" for its reality.
#9. Cat saves the day and the film
#8. Whatever anyone says about it being on this list, it's still undeniably the greatest character entrance in film History, the way it sneaks the character in during a big scene.
#7. Couldn't isolate the scene. It's the big dock scene at around 1:37, climax at about 1:42
6. From about the 7 minute mark, when the voting begins.
#5. Not available on you tube. The drawing of lots in 12 TO THE MOON. Obviously an incentive for what I would call an lesser movie in Armageddon
#4.
Greatest gunfight scene ever, most memorable death scene, and that includes the one of LQ earlier in this master piece.
#3. So much in this scene, the greatest horror scene of all time, so expertly done
#2. TARO and JIRO!!!
#1 with a bullet. It isn't on you tube, but it's the winner. The execution scene of 4OTH PARALLEL. The most heart breaking scene in film.

There are a lot of emotional scenes, I can´t remember many right now (feeling blank!) off the top of my head (in no order):
The Lion King
ET
Leon - Shaft scene
Kramer vs Kramer (spoilers, of course)
Immortal Beloved
Talking about Hair, I like your scene Drystyx, but I choose Berger last minutes.
Ikiru - The Swing scene
The Notebook
I would say the obvious scene in Godfather III, but it´s so OTT, LOL.
