This book is amazing, at least for males. You get to be a real sexist pig and put women in their place.
No wonder why hardcore religious zealots love this!!!

Do you mean hardcore religious zealots like the ones in Stephen King's Children of the Corn? Great story. I read it in the summer of 1980 when I was an innocent young lad of fifteen. It sent chills down my spine, or is it up my spine? Whatever the saying is, that's what it did.
Why are you reading Deuteronomy when you don't even believe in God? Why aren't you enjoying your life instead?

Scripture is there if nonbelievers want to read it, and if they don't like it they can always walk away and spend their time on something which they do like. I find it strange that they don't like it yet they can't bring themselves to stop reading it. Honestly, I find that strange.

BTW, what did you think of the movie?

I only saw parts of it, but it looked okay. They had to add some stuff to make it movie-length, of course. I haven't seen the sequels but I heard they were crud.

Or like not letting children play with matches.

That was a book of laws for Hebrews to follow in a world full of tribes. It was a different world.
Jesus came to give the ENTIRE WORLD laws from God, not just the Hebrews. Go read the gospels for an updated law, unless you are talking about Jewish people, then carry on.
