Integration experts are worried about the increasingly anti-Dutch attitudes of Turks living in the country, newspaper De Telegraaf reports.
The newspaper interviewed several Turks after Erdogan’s election win and some said shocking things.
“Wait for it”, says a young Turk in Amsterdam. “We are already the boss here now. Look around you, this is Turkey, we keep on growing in the Netherlands.
A Turkish friend of the man says: “This is what you’ve allowed, everything is possible here.” He adds: “If you offer people benefits, you shouldn’t whine about people using them.”
Another man, called Omer says: “Erdogan is good for us, because he stands for us.” About the Netherlands he says: “Here we are treated as second class citizens, therefore I don’t feel at home here.”
