That seems...like a bad idea.
What does DC have against something light like the comics? I know DC is a bit darker than Marvel but it wasn't that bad.
That's a mistake they've made with the movies.

Sounds kinda like Watchmen if you ask me. Dark and realistic but at the same time isn't afraid to put the heroes in full costume or showcase outlandish powers. I don't think it will be like 'Watchmen.' There is already a 'Watchmen' TV show on the way so I think they would do their best to avoid that and from what I have been reading recently it sounds like the 'Teen Titans' New 52 series could be playing a heavy influence on this show. As a fan of 'Teen Titans' I am looking forward to seeing what they do with it and while I agree with your comments about Starfire's outfit looking horrible in the leaked photos the actress confirmed that wasn't her costume and the pictures were taken out of context. Looking at the latest photos of Dick I think Starfire's costume might end up looking far more like the comic book costume.

Most of DC's comic books in the past 20 years have been dark. The 'Batgirl' New 52 Series by Gail Simone was darker and more violent than any of the 'Batman' movies we have had and received some complaints from parents over it to which Gail responded it was written with an adult audience in mind and the series was one of the biggest sellers in the New 52 and become a 'New York Times #1 Best Selling Series' and 4 of the 5 graphic novels also become 'New York Times #1 Best Sellers.' Most of the latest 'Teen Titans' comic books I have read have been dark and violent too and I think they need to keep them true to the comic books and go with what they know works 'cause there are too many bad examples on Warner Bros' behalf of changing series and characters to make them nothing like the comic books much like the current 'Supergirl' TV series which lost a large amount of Supergirl fans after its first episode. While I don't mind some light series I don't think everything needs to be light either.

The Teen Titans comics actually have gone down some dark places. Just to give an example, there was one famous storyline from the 80s where it was established that Deathstroke (a middle aged man) was sleeping with a 15 year old girl.

Why does it matter if they are regulars? Because if they’re not regulars, they wouldn’t have to apply the makeup as often. But there is always someone to put make-up on.

I wasn't aware there were darker Teen Titans comics. Still it works for the Marvel because the movies are kept pretty light and then you have the Netflix shows which are dark.
With DC the movies are already mostly dark and now they're going to have a dark series too. Even Deadpool 2 made fun of that.

JL was fairly lighthearted, and Shazam! has been said to be the lightest DCEU movie to date.

A new rumor suggests that Trigon is the overarching villain. That's a serious villain to even consider on a television show or even on film.

It's not about tone, that's too superficial of an issue, Antman is lighter in tone than Cap3, but it's far from a better movie.

VERY dark places, they've seen and done things that would make Justice League: Dark and Suicide Squad feel uneasy. In addition to Terra and Slade's relationship you also had Raven who was conceived as the result of an cult ritual that allowed an interdimensional demon to get it on with a human female - Should also be noted that Arella( Raven's mother) was also pretty young when it happened. Looking back I think it's pretty darn impressive that the makers of the animated show that ran from 2003-2006 were able to adapt storylines like The Judas Contract and The Terror of Trigon and make it watchable for adolescent viewers - granted, MANY liberties were taken to make it so.

Hopefully they make a decent effort to make him resemble his comic counterpart, would hate if they just have him look like a regular human with glowing red eyes - but I can see it happening, this won't be a cheap show with or without Trigon.

Honestly, I hope it's just a rumor. Facing Trigon is something that'd be an awesome finale to a Teen Titans film series or even a crossover with Justice League.

If Trigon does end up appearing in the series, I can’t imagine why they’d use him for season 1. It’d be like if Thanos was the villain of the first Thor movie.
