Comparable with what you'd see on a Marvel netflix show. You know, for the kids.
TEXT:
Before we get into the individual character breakdowns for the first episode, I think it’s important to discuss the tone of the show. TITANS is very much not a series for children. There are multiple f-bombs and s-bombs, among other swear-words that make it seem like they’re going for an R-rating. Moreover, the action is brutal, with bone snaps, people being shot, burned, and mangled. It’s a departure from the more joyful tone that many associates with the group, but it’s a departure that I feel is for the best. It’s refreshing to see a DC show that’s no-holds-barred instead of shying away from the more mature aspects of the mythology. It’s not as adult as something like JESSICA JONES, but it’s far darker than anything DC has put out on the small screen thus far. What separates TITANS from some of Marvel’s darker shows is the fact that it doesn’t ever really aim to be realistic. TITANS doesn’t shy away from the big, fantastical spectacle, and instead embraces the comic roots of the characters. We can have a realistic Robin fight scene, but we can also have Starfire blasting away goons with a burst of fire. It’s a mixture of realism and fantasy that I think works great.

I remember back when the show was supposed to air on TNT. It sounds like it’s going to be a far cry from what it originally was. If they ever bring in Deathstroke and Terra, I have to wonder if they’re going to include the thing with the two of them being in a relationship, despite Terra being a minor. Then again, even the comics in recent years have more or less retconned that, so who knows?

Since it's going to be on their streaming service I'm thinking they are going for unrated instead of an R-rating. Or do you mean the equivalent of an r-rating?

Sounds kinda like Watchmen if you ask me. Dark and realistic but at the same time isn't afraid to put the heroes in full costume or showcase outlandish powers.

MCU has f-bombs on their Netflix shows? I haven't seen The Punisher or Season 2 of Luke Cage yet, but I don't remember any f-bombs on their other Netflix shows.

I’d have to imagine that having a main character who always has green makeup on would be difficult to maintain on the budget they’re working with. Before you bring up the Lou Ferrigno Hulk series, keep in mind that the Hulk wasn’t the star of the show, David Banner was.

Also, you gotta remember, they did this for years on many series of Star Trek.

The actors playing the aliens in Star Trek usually have rubber prosthetics applied, don’t they?

Even with the prosthetics they still had to sit in a chair to have them applied. All Beast Boy needs is a sponge and green body paint on his face and maybe hands (I mean gloves most of the time people).

Figured this would happen. I believe this will work. I’m still hoping this will be set in the DCEU.

Apart from Data, were either of those other two guys regulars?
