He needs to die because his story arc will be complete. If he somehow survives Avengers 4, then he needs to end up someplace where he cannot come back from. There are many other villains to get to in phase 4.

Particularly when they have such a massive stable of villains to choose from? |

I think his major role should be complete, but seeing him show up again later on in some sort of cameo role, whether as anatagonist or providing aid/advice/info could be cool. Sort of the way RS did in IW. I feel like Thanos’ defeat shouldn’t be crushing defeat, but more of him backing down and being undone on his terms. He’s a complicated fellow, as pointed out by DCF with his “proper villain” points.
