Ill keep it short, it pretty much boils down to this...
"To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible." - St. Thomas Aquinas
probably no point in me going any further as you either believe in God and His truth, or one will probably reject those because they don't like them etc etc. but following God is not always easy but it's the way that leads to eternal life with Him in Heaven.
p.s. but there are things in the world that happen that at least make God's existence plausible like... St. Pio (1887-1968), Eucharistic miracles, Our Lady of Guadalupe image from the year 1531 etc etc.

God may be possible. I'm just not sure we should pick one dreamed up by a bunch of uneducated goat herders from 2000 years ago.

captainbryce That's where your biggest flaw in what you said is at because once you think God does not exist, one will continue to do whatever they want. That’s not a “flaw” my dear, that is a success! the truth is that Adam/Eve sinned and humanity had a fallen nature since (basically sin appears appealing to us and don't 'seem' wrong. but we have the truth of the Catholic church, which is the moral guide of the world, to tell us otherwise) and we no longer see things as they really are. that's where the Catholic church comes into play to help assist people in right and wrong, but since we all have free will, one can accept that or reject it and many reject it nowadays as they drift further and further away from God. That is YOUR “truth”. A truth that is assumed without evidence, logic, or reason, and one that only exists through centuries of indoctrinating the ignorant. Which basically makes it a complete falsehood! just look at the general moral decline of society over the last 50 years or so (hell, even in the last 10-15 years or so it's taken a hit). it's quite large but I don't expect you to see this given you reject the reality of sin. You’re right, I don’t see things that are not there, and I do reject the made up concept of sin. The reality demonstrates that morality evolves (usually for the better), and has continually done so generation after generation. The morality that existed when your bible was first being peddled is some of the lowest in human history. Empathy is nice and all but that does not mean one has to accept sin like the world often accepts/promotes, especially as time passes this seems to accelerate. In some cases it does. Sin is a made up thing that you choose to believe in. And if you use religious beliefs to justify your lack of empathy for someone else, then you are not a moral person; you are an evil one. I think you feel that way largely because we differ in the basic truth that I accept the reality of God and sin where as you reject it. No, it’s because that statement didn’t make any sense and does not follow any logical thought process. Feel free to collect yourself and reword your thoughts into something more sensible though. But you need Jesus Christ(who is God) to reach Heaven. Who cares? Nobody gives a sh!t about “heaven except the gullible people who choose to believe in such nonsense. The discussion is about how to be a good person, not how to get into some made up, fantasy afterlife for which there is no evidence of. where as a non-believer won't even strive to correct some stuff about them as they won't even see it as a bad thing even when it is That’s because there is no evidence that what you think is bad because a book tells you so is actually bad. The reason you believe that good and bad is dependent on what an ancient book says is because you have no sense of morality yourself. That you require religious indoctrination and ancient beliefs to teach you the difference between right and wrong demonstrates just how feeble minded religious people are. and I think that's especially true when it comes to sex as for a non-believer as long as two people agree to having sex then there is no wrong committed. In most cases (consenting adults), that is correct. but within Christianity unless your married it's always a sin, regardless if both people agree to it. basically the sexual desire is where a lot of people cross the line but I assume you will disagree with me here because you don't believe in the reality of God and sin, but sin has consequences. You're right, I disagree (because that is a retarded belief that defies all reason).

Nope. Strangers on the internet rarely offend me. They amuse me sometimes, particularly when they fail so miserably in trying to defend an indefensible position or demonstrate irony in their comments (like you did). But I wouldn’t take any kind of offense to that.
