This is the second pic in which they show him drinking something. Is he thirsty a lot in the movie? Is this a 7-11 tie in? WTF?
OMG he's gonna be acting like a little kid in the movie isn't he? He's going to have the body of a mighty superhero but he's gonna have the mind of a 14 year old isn't he? Oh lord...
Whatever happened to the Wisdom of Solomon? This movie is going to be a comedy isn't it? The Shazam!/Captain Marvel brand is going to be ruined... And the costume still looks ridiculous. Looks at the painfully obvious chiseled muscle uniform! ugh God I hope I'm wrong about this one...

I actually like the costume. The tone of it though...

I don't think it looks that bad either. And besides, Shazam has always been more jovial than his counterparts.

I don't think people should be surprised they're taking a goofier approach to this apparently. It's Shazam after all;btw I'm aware he's had his darker moments like Kingdom Come. But I'm not sure people are ready to see Superman fight what's essentially a man-child just quite yet.

The drinking gag. At first, I thought it might be alcohol. A Teenage boy who turns into a man, he wouldn't get carded. For one, who cards a superhero and two Shazaam is clearly older than 21. (altho I'm 40 and I still get carded for cigarettes and alcohol. Lady I know it's your job to check, but come on.)
AT second glance, it's cola and the poster looks like a soft drink. Maybe it's more innocent than alcohol. Maybe Billy's foster parents or the orphanage he's at doesn't allow soda. Before Billy got his powers, wasn't he kind of a Emo Prick turning cruel after his parents were killed? Maybe when he first receives his powers he goes on a childish petty crime spree. During it he sees loads of petty crimes, that interrupts his montage. The montage starts slowly changing from Shazam shoplifting soda, junkfood, stopping a delivery van and liberating it's video games to him stopping a mugging, holding up the rear axle of a car jacker's stolen car, and getting a cat out of a tree. During the montage you see his hang out he has in an abandoned building fills up with stolen goods. (Think DOFP Quicksilver's basement mixed with The Foot Clan's uber teenage army rec center in TMNT) As his petty crimes start to wan in the montage and the minor crime stoppage waxes his boxes of stolen goods starts to diminish. Later on you see Shazam or Billy delivering new electronics/goods to area shelters anonymously instead of returning the items. He's learned his lesson, but he isn't 100% good, so...

There is no way they can play the josh willikers 50's era kid acting like what a hero should be juxtaposed vs what 2018 reality. It would be too jarring. You will need some of that innocence/naivety to Shazam, but not over the top. I know Action Comic's Superman only came out 2 years before Captain Marvel, but the film makers could pay some homage to Christopher Reeve's superman. Some of the "hero tropes" in those movies (ie lifting up car's back axle and saving a cat from a tree.) should be used.
