The Finn/Rose relationship was forced, even more so than Anakin/Padme, even if more believable and written and performed far better.

I didn't write that as well as I should have.
The Anakin/Padme relationship was also forced and contrived, but it was far more believable and written and performed much better.

No lines? Shit, I wouldn't even put her in the movie. She was THAT BAD.
But you see, something happened with her, that role, and that movie. She got so much shit for it, I wouldn't be surprised if the writers/director try to make up for it. The stuff people said to and about her was BAD, but that doesn't mean we should see more of her as a result. She's owed an apology for how she was treated, but that apology shouldn't come in the form of another chance at that character. It's only going to create more anger.

My only issue with her character was that she was used in such a contrived way to deliver the reaffirmation of the message of the OT. It should have been such a great line, but not from her at that point in her story. It would have worked so well had Leia delivered it, but I don't get to tell the story (darnit). That and her exploits on Canto Bight were pretty drawn out.
I look forward toward her being in ep 9 though.

Except for her last scene she was fine in the movie.

I do agree, her last line in the movie, would have been better if maybe she was delivering the line to someone else and it was more of a general "we'll win cause we're fighting for what we love, the First Order fights what they fear-which is a much lesser motive to keep you going." But I liked her character, especially when they went down to the planet (which, technically, the only part of that I enjoyed was the Faithers)

At this point she may as well have some lines. Luke's dead. Han is dead. Ackbar is dead. Leia will be deleted scene cameo(s). Who is left to fill out the Rebellion?

The Finn/Rose relationship was forced, even more so than Anakin/Padme, even if more believable and written and performed far better. If you think about it you could argue that the introduction of Rose was both a sexist and homophobic move by Disney. They had Rey, Finn and Poe mirroring Luke, Leia and Han as the central trio. However given the sex reversal of the Jedi, that meant when Rey went off for her "training" the odd couple of Finn / Poe was left behind rather than the Han / Leia coupling of the OT. Instead of just letting the sexy jacket swapping couple having their own magical adventure of discovery, they threw Rose into the mix instead simply to give Finn an new, more acceptable partner!
