HELLO MARY LOU: PROM NIGHT II is my favourite Horror Film of 1987. I find that movie so much fun!
I find WHEN A STRANGER CALLS (2006) far more effective than the original.
I consider EVIL DEAD II a glossy, polished up rehash of the original - over-saturated with comedy, under-saturated with scares and far less ballsy than it's vibrant predecessor.
I believe HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER is considerably more effective than SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.
I've never considered JAWS a Horror Film.
I prefer THE BURNING to FRIDAY THE 13TH.
For me, HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH is better than all of the later entries in the series.
I prefer PSYCHO III to PSYCHO II.
Though I still like it, I thought DAY OF THE DEAD (1985) was vastly inferior to the previous two DEAD films.
I reckon John Carpenter's last truly effective Horror film was in 1982.........and even then, it was more Sci-fi than Horror.
Someone else take over!

Sleepaway Camp is nothing special. Sorry not sorry. It would fit my thread for terrible movies saved by great endings, though.

^ I'm not sure that opinion about Day of the Dead is very unpopular.

Roger Corman's Poe cycle is mostly a bit boring and does a bad job capturing the spirit of Poe's writing. Some good actors, set designs and scenes but that's about it. They are more sympathetic than anything. Tomb of Ligeia is the only one that really works as a whole and it doesn't even feel like part of the series.

Even if people like it, I think the vast consensus is that the first two of those films are classics and that one is a lesser sequel. I don't know that I've ever heard someone say otherwise.

James Wan sucks and has never made an above average film.

I know I've heard several. Well that's fine, but I'd argue that those several people in a the vast minority of horror fans and that your opinion is the same as the larger consensus.

Yeah, can't imagine too many people thinking it's more impressive than the first two. Too much of the standing around talking is boring.

Shark movies are boring to me. I like them as obstacles within a movie, but not for the whole thing to focus on them. That isn't much of an unpopular opinion. Shark movies are pretty much crap for the most part and it's known almost universally. Anyways, mine are: -Let Me In is better than Let the Right One In -The My Bloody Valentine remake is on par with (if not better than) the 1981 original. -Curse of Chucky is the best in the series. -The Exorcist isn't quite as amazing as people make it out to be. -I like Rob Zombie's Halloween and its backstory for Michael Myers. -The Stepfather remake really is THAT bad. Most find it to be mediocre but I just thought it was terrible. -The Rage: Carrie 2 isn't as bad as most make it out to be. The 2013 remake was even weaker. -The Saw franchise is great.

Karloff's Frankenstein would be cooler with a pointed head instead of a flat one.
I had to struggle to come up with an unpopular opinion, this is the best I could come up with on short notice.

Agreed..........although it's still a question of whether the majority consider it merely a lesser sequel as opposed to "vastly inferior" as I do.

Dracula (1931) is impossible to sit through. The start is OK but then it becomes campy and irritating.
It Follows is rubbish
Not sure if this is unpopular or not - The Conjuring was good.

Not sure if this is unpopular or not - The Conjuring was good. I think it’s popular. Pretty sure most people think it’s good. It has a high rating on IMDb. It’s mainly tr00 horror fans who think disliking mainstream horror movies makes them tr00er who dislike/hate it. I dislike Dracula (1931) too.

I didn't think The Conjuring was all that great and I think Ed and Lorraine Warren are full of shit.
I don't think JAWS was all that great either, but most people tend to love it for some reason.
