Come on now, his early movies were pretty good as far as 90s action films go. I still like Hard to Kill and Out for Justice. I love his early stuff in a way that you can only love cheesy action films. I'd add Marked For Death to the two you mentioned as probably my three favorite Seagal films. Nobody is saying they're high art or even the greatest action movies of their era, but they were damn fun.

I think the OP means movies where he is the main character. the vhs cover made you think he was The trailer showed the scene where he went bye-bye.

Under Siege is an excellent film despite the hammy crap acting by Tommy Lee Jones...

Under Siege was pretty good, but my favorite is the ultraviolent Out For Justice.
As for the rest, meh.

While I wouldn't call any of them *good* (except for Under Siege), I enjoyed a few of his late 80's to early 90's films due to some entertaining action bits. But yeah, the rest of his films are all unwatchable.
I also loathe Seagal as an individual so his descent into DTV garbage is deserved.

I used to like some of his earlier ones years ago but now they are forgettable.
but going by my opinion from years ago... I would say his general hey-day is 1988-1997.
