They sound like whiney asswipes.
The one has moviepass so he goes to too many movies & seems to have lost all objectivity.
He likes the car ads more than the movie.

No, but the 10 minutes or so I listened to the tape they said it looked horrid. They complained Aquaman is horrible because he's just a meme but the one loves the concept of Shazam without really understanding it. |

Way I see it, until recently Aquaman was considered the epitome of a lame superhero character.
That changed fundamentally, there is little derision about the silly base concept or Aquaman as a preposterous character anymore, and the movie is taken seriously as a potentially decent and interesting Sci Fi fantasy adventure adressing pollution and climate change. The movie looks good too, if you have problems with CGI do not watch modern superhero blockbusters, they are suffocating from it.
Also, the merits of the DCEU are not so much bringing the reduntant x-th version of Batman or Superman (after the genre milestone peaks Superman and TDK) or even Flash to the screen. No it brings fresh character and backstories such as Wonder Woman, Aqua, Shazam or even the Suicide Squad
That's all a big win already. |

It does look terrible. I hope it is a nice surprise, like Wonder Woman, but I will have to wait and see. I do not think it will necessarily be terrible, but I think it will be one of those 5/10 type movies like Justice League.

It does look terrible. I hope it is a nice surprise, like Wonder Woman, but I will have to wait and see. I do not think it will necessarily be terrible, but I think it will be one of those 5/10 type movies like Justice League. What about it looks terrible? The CGI, dialogue, and acting in the trailer are all terrible. The entire movie looks terrible. I may be wrong, but I highly doubt it. |

To say Aquaman looks "terrible," based on the SDCC trailer is just hyperbolic nonsense. I am sure Aquaman will turn out fine. That said, I find Wan's vision of Atlantis too derivative of Cameron's bioluminescent vision of Pandora. Since I have no affinity for the character, I had hoped that the setting would prove to be the draw. I'd expected a dark and mysterious vibe for Atlantis and not a psychedelic, deep-sea aquarium. The main takeaway I got from the trailer was that Wan and WB/DC are desperate to make Aquaman into a crowd pleaser (which will hopefully wash away decades of ridicule and mockery). To those who feel that Jason Momoa's bedroom eyes and dude-bro glare have suddenly and irrevocably reversed the tide of Aquaman's status as a punchline; you're mistaken. Robot Chicken, Family Guy, South Park, Entourage and even the Power Puff girls have all had their pound of Aquatic flesh in recent times. The New52 failed to revitalize the character with its near grotesque demonstrations of overcompensation. And Rebirth seems to want to remake him into an edgy outsider estranged from the superhero community and a neophyte politician come face to face with Trump's America. |

I didn’t say you don’t read comics, but the New 52 Aquaman line was really only “try-hard” for the first couple of issues, where Geoff Johns went at great lengths to debunk the most infamous beliefs about the character. Beyond that, the comics were mostly just doing their own thing. Fair enough, as a then fan of Johns, I collected it for a whole year and it just didn't work for me personally. |

I'd rather it be brighter because that's the way they see it underwater. I don't like the dark and murky look that we get from most underwater movies. |
