Would they be as iconic if Jason had the razor finger glove and Freddy had the machete? Would it even matter much either way?

Would they be as iconic if Jason had the razor finger glove and Freddy had the machete? Would it even matter much either way? Might not be as iconic without the multiple sequels. If Jason had the razor glove it would be part of Jason for sure. Jason had the mask and 'ki ki ki ma ma ma' and Freddy had the laugh, the striped sweater, the hat and the nursery rhyme like jingle also. Jason needed a catchphrase though. |

If Jason had the razor glove it would be part of Jason for sure. I think Jason is cooler because he doesn't speak. Hearing a voice would ruin it for me. |

Like Psycho said, multiple factors made these two iconic so it's hard to say how much one change would effect them.
Though the machete didn't really become Jason's "thing" until 6 or Hodder. Those early movies were built on Jason (and mom) killing people in creative ways with multiple items, which you don't really need to do if you're wearing a glove with knives attached. And there's only so many ways to kill someone with a razor glove. So I can see Friday becoming negativity effected by it.
Freddy's main weapon was the dreams themselves, so I don't think a blade switch would matter much.

I find the weapons they have seem to suit them more. Jason's machete is big and broad, and Freddy's glove is cunning and more evil-like.
