Regardless of what happens in the next film, I hope they keep Thanos alive for future films. Infinite Gauntlet is obviously the most popular comic featuring Thanos, but I'd love to see other stories that feature him, regardless of how small it is, in future films. Thanos is by far the MCU's best villain and most compelling one too and if they were smart, they'd keep him around for a little while after Avengers 4.

I'd like to see him join the Avengers.

I'd at least like to see him in that....what was that film they were planning, Eternals? Was that it?

Like for him to return so he can join forces with the Avengers to fight a common threat like Galactus or Annihilus? That'd be fun to watch sure. But at the same time, so much has happened as far as buildup and the events of Infinity War that it'd seem almost too calculated to just let him live and reuse him again for some 'special guest of the week' thing.
