So...anyone not surprised they did not cast a ginger for the role? Wonder if she'll dye her hair/wear a wig or will they be changing Batwoman's look?

I think she's the one I always confuse for Justin Beiber...is she any good as an actress? honestly never watched her in anything, or if I have she's utterly forgettable in it as I have no clue who she is beyond recognising her name.
But she aint a red head, damn you DC/CW when will the gingers get a fair fucking shake?

So...anyone not surprised they did not cast a ginger for the role? Wonder if she'll dye her hair/wear a wig or will they be changing Batwoman's look? Not really. I mean, Stephen and Grant aren't blonde like either are supposed to be. At least Ollie had lighter hair in flashbacks where it's grown out. Melissa isn't a natural blonde, but the color works for her (, some people I feel like blonde hair, or at least the shade they go with, clashes with their skin tone. *Cough*Katie Cassidy*cough**cough*Jennifer Aniston*cough*). Maybe they'll try dying her hair or wear a wig in costume. I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea, from an internal logic perspective. If you're running around as a masked vigilante with bright red hair, you've sort narrowed the suspects of who might be behind that mask. And red hair may not be the most definitive form of identification, especially in a large city, but if anything else can link you to your activities, having the same hair as the vigilante isn't going to help. And I know that's something out of the comics too. I remember reading something where Dick Grayson refenced using a special shampoo or something developed witg Bruce or Alfred, that let's him quickly manipulate how dark his hair was, so when he went out as Robin, he might look a little more different; specifically during one case where Robin had to work closely with someone who knew him as Dick Grayson. It's those of touches and effort to make these stories more believable, that is sorely needed in the Arrowverse shows.

I do not mind her. She was good in Orange is the New Black.

I can't say I am very familiar with her work and I think there were better choices they could have gone with - some of which I have mentioned on here before. I have seen Ruby in a few things but I am not sure how good she is at fighting scenes and I have heard far more about her relationship with Jess Origliasso from The Veronicas than her acting but I am willing to give her a chance and I think it is good they cast a fellow Aussie and an LGBT actress playing an LGBT role. Now the question is who will be playing Bette Kane (Flamebird/Hawkfire).

I am disappointed they didn't cast a red head like cjdull76 and Dazz above but I wanted to say you made a good point about the bright red hair standing out which is why I actually think it is a good idea to have her wear the bright red wig when she is Batwoman 'cause less people will suspect it is her if she keeps her hair the way it is now 'cause everybody is going to be looking for somebody with red hair as you mentioned which there could not be many of in Gotham. Although in the comic books there are a lot of female characters in Gotham that have red hair and unlike the movies and Arkham Vicki Vale has long been a red head too.

I've seen Ruby Rose in Dark Matter, John Wick 2, XXX The Return of Xander Cage, and the last Resident Evil movie. She is not a very good actress but that is not a big deal for the Arrowverse. I think she has some physical traits that will be beneficial. I just hope it's a good show.

It's really too bad that there are so many idiots inhabiting so-called "fandoms" Sadly a lot of idiots in fandoms are causing a lot of problems at the moment and bullying people who disagree with their opinions and driving actors and actresses off social networking sites. I have seen some crazy fans over the years and the Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift fans were really bad around a decade ago with their fights over who was the best but I think what we are seeing now is some of the worst and most vocal fans we have seen to date.
