Tormund and Beric Dondarrion are both in imminent danger from Night King's army of the dead. Realistically they do not stand a great chance of surviving. But I think Tormund is a very likeable character and he won't die in the opening episode because fans expect to see him for a bit longer. May be Beric Dondarrion could die but I am not 100% sure of that too. The important thing is where will these wildlings and folks of the Night's Watch run from the army of dead.
What do you guys think?

I kind of assumed they’d be behind the Night Kong’s army of undead at this point. Which doesn’t necessarily make them safe but with how quickly they were marching I assumed Beric and Tormund would still be in the rubble of the wall.

I think Tormund is a big fan favourite and that's why they won't kill him. Perhaps those who escape the army of the dead at the EastWatch-by-the-sea will run to Castle Black and try to regather themselves to take on The Night King. It seems they haven't given a big role to Cotter Pyke. Might be they will kill him instead of Beric and Tormund.

if one of them is meant to die early on i predict tormund sadly because beric is still needed doesnt he still have a life to give? and if he does i think the show will keep him around to save someone with his life
i think episode one if they pick up from where they left off with the wall falling we will see the surviving watchers running to warn everyone at winterfell whats going on the WW zombies they all walk in slow space but the NK now has a dragon and he flies so i dont know , i do hope they resolve this zombie fight early on so we can get to the real battles.

I'm surprised Beric has made it this far. Beyond reviving Stoneheart in the books, he really doesn't serve a purpose in the story. Hopefully since they brought him back in the show, they have something in mind story-wise that will make his presence noteworthy.

I think it was Thoros who used to save lives not Beric. Beric was one whose life was saved very often by Thoros.

I think it was Thoros who used to save lives not Beric. Beric was one whose life was saved very often by Thoros. "Life pays for life". Thoros didn't give or save anything, he merely presided over requests and in the books, Beric finally dies so Lady Stoneheart can be brought back. It doesn't explain the six times Beric was brought back before, though. We do not understand how these things work. Mirri Maz Durr thought she would save Drogo's life with that of his horse and Daenerys believed her son's life had been spent instead. She then clearly said she wanted Mirri's life for a purpose which ended up in the dragon birth… or maybe her own life being preserved. All in all, it seems the "life pays for life" belief is just some superstition rooted in the desire to see expenses rewarded. It does not work that way but people like to believe it does. No one had to pay for Jon's life. Beric was kept alive for a purpose, yet unresolved. GRRM openly said Stoneheart should not have been left out of the show and it implies there is more to her than being that cold agent of vengeance. Maybe that purpose remains Beric's in the show.

The show has not depicted Lady Stoneheart or principle of life pays for a life as a reason behind how Thoros saved Beric. The case is not so complex. It is just that the Red God answers the prayers of his priests. Neither the Hound nor the Mountain paid for the life of Beric.

The purpose of the Lord of Light, Red God or whatever it is that wastes its time listening to people's wishes hasn't been made clear yet. Maybe it just needed a fool to bring a dragon to the Night King.
