we have no insulation in my building. there is nothing inbetween the walls/floors/ceilings. anyway....
I would not call them psychotic but I will call them weird. the first weeks I had moved in, the people above me were so loud -- stomping their feet around and that was regular walking to them... I had asked the super [just asking and he understood] if the people above me had any sort of medical situation -- like a lead foot or something.
Then they dismantled a couch or something -- clanging and all -- at 2am. fk you.
then they moved [thank god].
00 then the new people weren't in yet but they were having the place worked on... sawing and whirring of electrical equipment at 7am on a weekend. doublefkyou.
then the work was done and the new people moved in... so far so good. wife wouldn't take her stilettos off when she got home but they didn't keep weird hours so I was okay.
then something happened and the toilet overflowed in their apartment... something that happens every once in a rare while [old fashioned flushometers] and what happened could happen when the unit water line has been turned off so that something can get worked on... so I know the toilet was leaking because I heard the dripping into my toilet. I run upstairs and start pounding on the door -- no answer. I leave a note and the guy calls me back relatively quickly. [he was in the laundry room] and he told me that everything was alright now -- and then told me he's basically an idiot.
'I was working at my computer and I heard water slowly running. I go to see and I see the toilet slowly overflowing. I say 'that's weird' and go back to my work.'
dafuq?? he didn't even put a towel down to mop up the mess!!! fkyou. fkyou.
then comes the complaints TO ME FROM THEM about the noise[keep in mind they are above me and do not have rugs!] at 3pm, on a Saturday she has a problem. at 730pm she has a problem. at 8 on a Friday night she has a problem. fk you! the bylaws says we are 'allowed to live' but the noise has to be toned down at 11pm weeknights and 1am on weekends. I still had 3 1/2 hours on that weeknight and I had 5 hours on the last weekend problem. I started keeping a noise log and found them breaking the bylaws often.
[keep also in mind that I don't have rugs either but the girl below me has NO NOISE PROBLEM FROM ME! she was shocked when she saw the big dog I had with me at the time [my parent's] she didn't even hear him!]
then starts the 'drilling' sounds -- directly on the floor at all hours of the day and night.... once I went up there at like midnight during a weekday just to ask what they were doing... they were blowing up an air mattress and was wondering why that was bothering me. the motor was on the freaking bare floor! I was nice to them knowing that the noise would stop relatively soon but it didn't click with them that noise carries BOTH WAYS in apartment buildings!
Then they have a kid and the kid is toddler age... running amok back and forth for hours on-end when it is nice enough outside to take him out to play. nope he runs amok above me. don't get me started on the 5am wake up call I got on sunday. him running amok for an hour! fk you. fk you! [not the kid, he's a baby and I would have understood if they got to him after a few minutes but a freaking hour???]
then he grows up to a preschooler... still running amok upstairs. I see them take him outside to get fresh air and he does have little chums to play with in our building and the buildings connecting to ours. he doesn't run around with them! they go out side to sit and drink in the fresh air and sun but then the parents think it is okay to take him back upstairs to EXERCISE!! SCREW YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
then they moved [thank freaking god] and now a young couple lives up there. they have odd hours -- like they get home at 10pm and start doing things you would do at 7pm. okay. I don't have much of a problem. I have met her and she seems nice. sometimes they get a little active after bylaw times but as long as they calm down soon or don't break out the chain saws I am okay with it.
