So this morning I'm watching Paranormal Lockdown season 2. What is essentially a show where actors play characters investigating the paranormal... the problem is the disingenuous nature of the show that markets itself as candid, reality tv, but would be best to avail itself of such silly charades since everyone knows its script, and would respect you more if you were just honest, then you could just act it up, have more fun with it, and stop exploiting your audience, feeding their delusions, in order to line your own pockets... I mean it's obvious when you're proficient at reading people, that these are just actors playing roles, and trying to convince the audience that they're not actors, but true investigators... but they don't believe in this, at least not more than they believe this is a good gig, it's fun, and interesting, and pays the bills... but I do wonder how they can in good conscience play such parts knowing they're lying to their audience... and I wonder what is their true relationship with their audience...
When you listen to their dialog, you can tell they're trying to sound unscripted, but they're not good enough actors to pull it off, so the emotion all is hollow, and the words fall flat and overacted, with that tension seeping through every scene... the show would be better if they just stopped trying so hard, and just had more fun with it, it's overly scripted.

Try watching "A Haunting". People talk about what happened to htem and then actors are reinacting it. A couple good movies came from the series like A Haunting in Connecticut.

I actually really like A Haunting... that series doesn't feel so over the top. Also The Haunting in Connecticut 2 has a very refreshing ending, and I love the song that plays in the credits.

I watched Season 1 of this show as I was also a fan of Ghost Adventures the show that Nick Groff came from. On GA Nick always came across as the more thoughtful one so when he started this show I was keen to watch.
What these shows lack is come character development. How can they still be so scared after doing this for so long? Why do they jump at the sight or sound of anything? Why do noises on those devices always sound similar and why is it every show a spirit says Nick or Katrina's name?
And when they do "Find" something they don't follow up at all, they will supposedly have this chat with a spirit and then nothing, they don't even ask why they have stopped talking. It's like they know the conversation is over!
I wouldn't mind the fakery if it was fun but it just isn't for me anymore.
