...for a new movie series and a television series as well. Next thing you know, they're gonna dig up Silent Night, Deadly Night. *internet search* Oh they did one in 2012? Never mind.

Meh. Not really interested. Leatherface and Texas Chainsaw 3D were utter garbage. I don't see what else they can do with this franchise anyways.
The last 4-5 films were nothing more than retreads of the original. I mean if they actually do something new to the series then cool, but I don't see that happening.

Same, though I'll admit I enjoyed Texas Chainsaw 3D just for its sheer trashiness.

A series could be interesting. If done right. A look at the history of the family and how they were able to be around for so long without the locals knowing what was going on. The family business and how they interacted with the community. Relationships outside the family. Might be a bit better than the sequels and remakes and another reboot. I'm kind of going on how dubious I was about a tv show based on 'Psycho' which turned out pretty damn good. Much better than it really ought to have been.

I heard and was going to start a thread about it but you beat me to it. I don't know how up to date you are with the franchise but from what I heard earlier this year Lionsgate and Millennium Films were were actually planning on making another 4 new 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' movies but they run out of time 'cause of the delay with 'Leatherface' and lost the rights and it was said there were multiple studios who wanted to get their hands on 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' franchise so they could make more movies of it and it wouldn't be long before another one was on the way and it appears this is that other one but I wasn't expecting a TV series. I think 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' is one of those franchises that will never die 'cause studios keep bringing it back whether the movies are successful or not and I could see it outlasting James Bond.

Isn't TCM always being revived? To no real avail. We've tried sequels, sequels that are basically remakes, remakes, prequels to remakes, sequels that ignore remakes, prequels to the original. Only thing they haven't done is sent Leatherface to space.

beg of you Hollywood, stop kicking this dead horse of a franchise and let it DIE already on film and live on through merchandise, comics, books and video games to appreal, it's already dead after The Beginning. The franchise is now just a joke thanks to The Next Generation, Texas Chainsaw 3D aka Three-Dicks and Leatherface 2017, the last worthwhile TCM movie was 3 back in 1990. The 2003 remake was decent but i'm a fan of the first 3 films.
Just end this dead franchise and send it to the slaughterhouse and bury it. Enough is enough, if there is any fans of the first 2 movies even with the third movie and who thought the remake was decent who is fed up with what's been done to this franchise and this character for the last 24 years, don't go see the movie in theater as you can wait until netflix or rent it some place as it's better than buying a movie ticket, also i ain't gonna watch the TV show as i know it will suck ass like the Scream one.
Just let Leatherface go, let him rest in peace and his memory/legacy live on through comics, books, merchandise and appreal to video games, let it just die please and come up with new horror franchises and new icons. This is how fans who dislike what's been done to the franchise to send their message to the studios even to make new horror icons and new franchises.

Why does everything horror have to be made into a show now? I mean it worked for Evil Dead which ended up great, but F**K. This is really getting out of hand.
First Chucky, now this?! What's next, Hellraiser on TV? Saw on TV? Leprechaun on TV? Oh wait, the last one was already getting a TV movie with NO Warwick Davis again?! Dammit!

Don't forget we have a 'Critters' TV show on the way too. To be fair I am all for the 'Chucky' TV show 'cause it is continuing on from the original franchise and is going to have Andy and Kyle in it and I doubt I will be wasting my time on the remake 'cause I think MGM are being a bunch of pricks trying to cash in on the success of the latest movie. They haven't released a 'Child's Play' movie since the first one and all the other movies have been under Universal so they didn't want 'Child's Play 2', 'Child's Play 3', 'Bride of Chucky', 'Seed of Chucky', 'Curse of Chucky' and 'Cult of Chucky' but they want to steal off Don Mancini and David Kirschner right when we finally have got Andy and Kyle back. I agree with Christine Elise's comments about it being a "dick move." That being said I wouldn't be against a 'Hellraiser' TV show if they did it right or finally let Clive Barker take over again. The last few movies have been awful and I heard Doug Bradley said he would play Pinhead again if Clive Barker was in charge.

www.syfy.com/syfywire/childs-plays-christine-elise-is-scary-mad-about-mgm-remake-that-leaves-out-creator-donKudos to Mrs. Christine Elise! I agree but I'd much rather have another Chucky movie continuing from Cult over a series, even though MGM was doing a remake anyway. Then again, I hate to have a remake. I mean, they're making him some robot doll with superpowers. How do you explain that one? Also, I agree about a Hellraiser show but only if they bring in Clive and Doug, as you said. To hell with the last two movies without him.
