If people can pay millions to sit through 6 Mission Impossible movies, 5 Jurassic Parks and 5 Transformer movies then YES I think they will be big hits!

More than likely, but they won't get any of my money.

The last Transformers underperformed though. And its popular reputation has not been kind.

Yes without question (especially overseas ). If those Fast & Furious films can make loads of bank in China & other places, then certainly sequels directed by James Cameron can as well. James Cameron is known for making great sequels (Aliens & Terminator 2) so I am confident the sequels to Avatar will deliver!

At least, Avatar 2 will be.

Yes, if they're really good. Most people nowadays don't see a movie because of the reviews, that is if they're bad. I would say Avatar 2 would make just over $2 billion. Probably not as much as the first.

I want to say no, but that stems from me not being a fan of the film, however I will say that most people dont even talk about avatar.

Yes, especially overseas. Even if they're bad I'm expecting at least 1 billion worldwide. If they're good/great probably 2 billion. I don't think it will be able to rival Avatar's current 2.79 billion record unless it's a masterpiece and extremely hyped.

Part 2 will probably do well, but I really don't see how Cameron can carry this series for so many films. Overseas will probably do well.
I'll wait until it comes out on Netflix or something (if i even see it).

I don't bet against Cameron's ability to make sequels or breaking box office records. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Avatar 2 became the highest grossing film of all time.

The second one might make a billion at best but their BO earnings might gradually drop with every sequel.

Depends how you define "hit". I don't think they will be close to the original in Box Office. Just because a lot of people saw the first film, doesn't mean a lot of people loved it...I don't know, and have yet to meet, anyone who loved the first film, and only went to see it because it was meant to be a so called groundbreaking amazing visual experience.

They'll probably be hits (because of the 3D effects) but they'll be soon forgotten right after just like the original.
The 3D effects is pretty much all the Avatar series has going for it anyways. The plot is nothing original. It's basically a Dances with Wolves/Pocahontas hybrid with blue people in it.
The characters are also boring/flat with no depth to them.
It'll come and go with no lasting effects whatsoever. It might get people talking/excited for the 3D, but the plot? Nah.
