The fans' favourite and EPL Legend previously hinted at a return to Villa Park but the lure of Europa League glory has proven too much for the much loved winner of the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Community Shield, Champions League, Europa League, CFC Player of the Year, PFA Players' Player of the Year, UEFA Club Defender of the Year, and a host of other accolades.
Terry released a statement, which he emphasized was intended not only for Villa and Chelsea fans, but for his legions of fans all over the UK. "I am pleased to have served you all well and I know you will miss my input. However, you will have a chance to relive your past enjoyment of me when Spartak visit Rangers in the Europa League. I know that many of my English fans will be making the journey north to pay homage to me and many more of them will be watching me on TV. My fans stretch from Brighton and Bristol to Limerick and Liverpool and I have a strong following in Edinburgh and all over Scotland. I know of no one in these places who hasn't taken me to their hearts and who will forever regard me as the ultimate central bastion of defence in the modern game. I will return."
