As more time passes it is becoming clearer and clearer to me that Black Panther is a bad movie. It's boring and borderline racist. Agreed. Black Panther is just a movie about an angry black man who wants to strike back at his white man oppressors. It uses the race card and panders to the SJWs.

But what about the racism towards blacks? Why are they depicted like savages that grunt like gorillas? Why couldn't Wakanda be shown as keeping close to their African culture/traditions AND also civilized? I'm amazed Black people weren't absolutely outraged. Good point. All the critics who gave Black Panther a high rating say that Black Panther was noteworthy for its positive portrayal of African culture. But the only thing Black Panther portrayed about African culture is that African nations choose the strongest (by a barbaric ritual of mortal combat) in the tribe rather than the smartest in the tribe for their leader. That's a negative portrayal, not a positive portrayal. It suggests that African nations don't care about having a leader with intelligence and only care about having a leader with brute strength and savagery.

I travel a lot in MEA, especially beautiful east Africa and people do not grunt like gorillas, but speak English, French and African languages like Swahili.
Why these film elements were not critizised as insulting and borderline racist is beyond me, but I assume that is because it's only Disneyland-Africa where the savages rule. Who cares what real Africans think?
One fanboy explained to me: It's not racist bc in the comics they allegedly looked more like apes, and MCU at least made them look like black people. Whoever wants to follow that logic...

in all fairness to the film there was a balance of high civilization. that was a positive.

BP is neither good enough or bad enough to receive the attention it does from terrified DC fans. I say "terrified" because the possibility of BP getting an Oscar nomination is clearly causing them to lose a lot of sleep. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/tek3suwt5/laugh.gif) to be fair, it's my observation that the only ones losing sleep (A LOT) are MCU fans struggling with the cold hard fact that 20 MCU-efforts in a row did not achieve any, while even DCEU (with film 3) did.
BP getting an Oscar would indeed mean the end of a good joke, but it would be the beginning of a good new ridicule.

I don’t think it’s anything incredible. Liked the villains but everything else was pretty average And the CGI is painful ![](https://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/8/80103/6284756-2820131708-giphy.gif)

Then why is it that DC fans and yourself the one commenting on it the most?? You guys were even the ones who started the threads about it. The only time Marvel fans ever made a thread about Black Panther and the Oscars is only for the sake of sharing the news about it but it's really those like yourselves who are panicking about it and it's hilarious too watching you guys try and convince yourselves otherwise. But the more you comment on it the more you're just proving how -as someone else put it- terrified you are at the prospect of Black Panther winning an Oscar

It’s not a great movie. It’s pretty terrible. The best thing was Klaue and he wasn’t in it much.

cough cough...its oscar worthy ugh is that real? That is CGI-animation for radio... Yeah it's real and the fucking idiots over at marvel used it in it's advertisment. It reminded me of how the dumbasses over at WB threw in that horrible Doomsday in the BvS trailer. I really wish all of these films started bombing at the box office.

I really wish all of these films started bombing at the box office. they used it in advertisement and still not one criticism to even rethink? remember this crap poster of first class that everyone criticised. fans, media, critics, it was bad. I think fox yanked it. Thank goodness, the movie was the exact opposite. ![](http://nerdreactor.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/xmen-first-class-magneto-xavier-bad-posters.jpg) And BP gets no criticism..see it is not just JL in 2017, it is clear MCU movies are very protected by the Disney machine. X-Men,Sony and DC will never be able to get away with all the bs MCU does. that is why when they put out a great movie (sony, xmen, dc), it is credible.

I wonder how that one looked on the big screen. But in the end it's just CGI - form, not substance.
Beware: I knew a guy who knew a guy who suffered from mild form of CGI-Allergy (CGIA). The CGIA gradually developed into a full fledged CGIA-paranoia.
Dude increasingly freaked out when he saw CGI even if it was not there. It escalated: He got mad at things in real life he though looked too CGI, like toys or animals. Said they were badly animated and gravity-less. In the end he thought most people were CGI too and his mission was to uncover the CGI-conspiracy. Even punched an old lady in the face - poor guy ended up in the madhouse which he thought was only CGI too; ironically, they threw away the real keys to his cell.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight hold up so we'll because of how zealous Nolan was when it comes to the use of CGI in the film.
Apparently he tried using real bats in Begins until one of the producers had to talk him into using CGI for it.

Apparently he tried using real bats in Begins until one of the producers had to talk him into using CGI for it. Actually all 3 movies hold up well and while I love Nolan. Comic CGI is not his best strength. his tdk movies as good as they were still faced harsh criticism for many of the fight scenes. Nolan is a master cinematographer but comic cgi and fight scenes was one of his weaknesses and he has been fairly called out for it. He even said, he never gave much focus to that. Nolan is arguably a better story teller than Bryan Singer and Sam Raimi but Raimi and Singer were better at using practical effect or what I like to call non cartoon looking CGI. I Like all 3 directors professionally and I know their strength and weaknesses, please stop making us Nolan fans look bad by making him a flawless god. I have told you this already.
