It's not a impressive trailer. The fact it took them this long and this is the best they could come up with is worrisome.
I got a The Last Jedi vibe from that trailer and i'm not happy about that.

I don't know. As trailers go it's alright. It's been a long time since I was blown away by a trailer. I just forwarded it to a couple of "normal people." to see their reaction. Maybe I'm jaded and they'll love it, think the same as me as meh, or hate it.

Underwhelming. Looks and feels like another Antman 2 style movie. I'll wait for a full trailer.

Not sure why all the bitching, I thought it was just fine...it's a teaser trailer, not supposed to give away too much.

I just watched it 3 times, and I like it more each time. There are a lot of quick shots that actually give hints at some cool things going on. I dig it. I wonder how many people will be shocked by Danvers punching an old woman in the face?
Also, I just let my 4 and 5 yo watch it- 4yo loves the MCU; she’s never scared or upset by anything, but she said this was scary. 5yo is a little more easily shaken, and she said the same. That said, they both still think she looks cool. I’ll have to dig in more after school as to what exactly got them, because it’s still unclear.
Anyway, I dig it and I see it as letting us in on what settings/characters/style of action we can expect rather than a blow you away geekgasm spectacle of a teaser. I’m fine with that at this point.

Watched it again on a better device and the only thing that really got me excited was seeing the Blockbuster at the beginning. Everything else just screams generic and typical superhero(ine) film. Another no stakes MCU film that we know the outcome as the heroine will be basically untouchable? Similar feeling I had with the Aquaman teaser.
Venom is still the most unique and interesting trailer/movie upcoming. Hopefuly the Dark Phoneix trailer is similar to it.

Yeah, nothing about that really grabs my attention, but then again it's just a teaser. Hopefully the trailer will be better. That said, it's been a long time since the MCU came out with a teaser that felt this bland.

In the abc interview that aired the trailer, Brie said she felt like a character in Disney land and with the official take that the movie will be comedy...oh dear.
For me, it kind of confirms what I have been saying all along. mcu characters are Disney characters not marvel characters from the comics. marvel characters from the comics are so much deeper.
Also the trailer is done exactly like avengers, the voice over, generic music score....
...the mcu formula all over again. See when I say the genre is dead? remember when Logan used Johnny Cash and we knew we were up for something special? comic movies should progress from that, instead we are still in generic music score like what we see in ms marvel and avengers.

This is an excellent first trailer if for no other reason than it gave fans of the character (such as myself) easter eggs to appreciate without giving away too much (if anything, really) about the plot. I will say the music and Sam Jackson narration was generic, they could've done something more interesting in that regard. But considering the villains are shapeshifters, how much of the story can they show in the trailer without spoiling everything or being totally incoherent?
I'm curious as to how the character is portrayed by Brie Larson. She's a solid actress but Carol is a larger than life personality. I've never been into fan casting but they could've gone with someone with more gravitas. She's going to be the MCU's Wonder Woman, she needs to have that iconic presence.
They had me at hello because I'm a huge fan of the character, but I can see casual fans being underwhelmed by this trailer.

Looks bland and uninteresting Because you have seen it before, ITS THE MCU FORULA. also cheesy, the music score and the words dropping in.....generic. 101 basic comic movie stuff. And I hate to say this but does brie remind anyone of Lizzy Maguire? she sounds like her, like a child. Maybe this is why she called ms marvel a Disney character from Disney land.

The flashback scenes to her as a kid could be an interesting concept if they execute it well. A Cloud Atlas vibe of her not knowing her up bringing as if shes remembering a past life.

They're playing up the paranoia vibe of the film. She's fighting shapeshifters and she can't even trust her own memories, it's a hell of a fresh take on an origin story.

They should have progressed how? By not using generic scores? Non generic scores were used in MCU trailers before Logan, and certainly after - Ragnarok/Led Zep, Black Panther/Gil Scott Heron, Ant-Man & The Wasp/Adam & The Ants.

This is one of those paint-by-numbers troll comments (from a troll I have blocked) with zero insight. If they did something similar to Logan he'd say it was ripping off Logan, if they make it more traditional he'd say it isn't doing anything interesting like Logan. That being said...considering the film takes place in the 1990s and deals heavily in paranoia and identity, some angsty 90s post-grunge could've been put to good use here. Plenty of female singers to choose from if you really wanted to double down on the gender politics. Somewhere, someone is working on a fan cut of this trailer with Hole playing in the background.

It's something slightly different yes but weve already seen fractured memories with Wolverine and Winter Soldier. Well see how they take the angle with this one.
