I'd like to see Christian Slater as The Joker.

Thanks for posting that Josh. I am not sure what he is going to be like in the role and I am just hoping the rumours I have heard about it being set in a 'real world' and similar to 'Henry: A Portrait of A Serial Killer' aren't true 'cause I don't think a realistic movie like that would work with a character like the Joker but I will give the movie a chance if it gets made.

Oh my God he does! By the way, do you know what that's from? I love Patrick Troughton and try to watch as much of his filmography as I can.

You're right. I did a Google image search and found the same image in black and white. I haven't seen that arc. Not sure how I missed it. But it have it in my Netflix queue now.

Isn’t he related to River Phoenix? We saw him again the other day in The thing called love. That was a good movie. I still can’t believe he’s dead. He was only 23 when he died and Joaquin looks nothing like him.

Yes. He is the brother of River Phoenix. In fact, he's the one who called 9-1-1 after River collapsed and began convulsing from a fatal drug overdose.

I didn’t know Joaquin was there with his brother when he died. It is tragic when people pass away so young and the memory would have haunted him for a long time and been traumatizing. Why does his name sound like a Star Wars character? When I hear Joaquin I think of Jedi and Sith names.

It's the Spanish form of the Hebrew name Joachim. Joachim was the father of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I found out some more news about the upcoming 'Joker' movie you all might be interested in reading if you haven't already heard and it was announced Dante Pereira-Olson has been cast as a young Bruce Wayne and looking at the age of this actor it really sets this movie apart from the DCEU and Jared Letto's version of the Joker who is roughly around the same age as Batman (the same age as Ben Affleck in real life) and it is a shame they didn't get Mark Hamill to play the Joker in the DCEU since they are willing to go with this much of an age difference. It also makes me wonder if we will see any other Batman characters appearing in this movie such as other villains like the Penguin who Joker has a history with. Yeah I heard they cast young Bruce and Alfred in the movie. Thomas Wayne is going to be in it too. It is interesting that The Joker will exist before Batman. Though not something entirely new. In the rejected Tom Mankiewicz script The Joker was around when Bruce was still a child.
It's interesting how elements of that script keep finding it's way into other Batman films. Mankiewicz came up with the grappling hook, which made it's way into Sam Hamm's script. His description of The Penguin, as having flippers and eating raw fish made it's away into Batman Returns and Batman: The Animated.

I didn't know about that movie but it is odd how elements of that script are being used again in a different movie and it sounds like somebody might have liked a number of parts from Tom's script but didn't think it was good enough to be adapted so now they have got another script they think can work they are using some parts of what would have been that movie in this one. I have heard of this type of thing happening with other movies and TV shows and it is like how some video games have levels in them that were originally created for other games. With Thomas Wayne being in the movie I assume Martha Wayne is going to be in it too but they have yet to cast the actress for the role yet and of they go on the comic books they could have members of the Cobblepots and the Elliots and show their relationships with the Waynes and the Penguin in the comics often blames the Wayne's for him not being a billionaire and having the money he believes he is entitled too and they could show Thomas exposing his family as criminals.

Isn’t that what they did with Catwoman? I don’t know about this. This doesn’t sound good. I am worried.
