I will write a note or a PM.. normal length and post it only to find that it has been filled with massive amounts of blank space .. like scroll down and its all empty ~ as far as the scroll can reach ~ nothingness. IF it's a board note, it can be remedied with "edit" and delete the empty ...but the PMs are un-fixable and not apparent until actually sent !
Any ideas what is going on ?… Is it happening to anyone else ? … how to prevent ?
If not a tech support question or not re-producible … ok then .. just thought I'd ask !

Think of PM's like emails - once they're sent, there is no taking them back or editing them.
I have no idea why your PM's are adding all that extra space. I've never had that problem.

PMs are fun... you get to send P.S. s to correct the " wait wait I just saw a massive meaning altering TYPO just as I hit send ! "

What's frustrating is when they only read the last one and don't know WTF you're talking about.

What's frustrating is when they only read the last one and don't know WTF you're talking about. and then there's notes from the friends who you forget start their sentences in the heading and their note means nothing without those first few words so you message asking them what they are talking about and just after hitting send … you notice the heading ! and then you have to PS a neeeeevvver mind ! D'Oh to the max !
Tech-no-logy-gy … gotta love it !

It's odd but the site seems to occasionally duplicate <br> tags (meaning "line-breaks" or a line of blank space) in preview mode.
It's especially noticeable when posting an article. Two line breaks will turn into four unless you go to the BBC editor and correct them. So if you find yourself hitting enter a lot and then moving back up for corrections or to write something else or whatever, those can start to compound to the point where you have a ton of deadspace.
The best solution is, after writing your final line, to hold down delete until the scrollbar goes away.

Thanks bartlesbyshall pay more attention and watch what has been done before sending so that if it keeps happening, will have more details. It has occurred a few times in just dash-em-off notes without quotes or much in the way of re-writes. Just odd enuf to ask about !

Some posters will have (same as a line break) in their posts, some won't, for example. There's some browser specific weirdness going on.

"Giant notes of nothingness" read like the first line of an epic poem... I was expecting to blown away with literary greatness when I clicked on this thread!
