Thanks for hosting, and getting this year’s challenge started Flynn . Just a reminder to keep a running tally of your total films, and first time viewings. Just makes it easier for Flynn when adding up the final results.

Last year I developed an Excel file that normalizes all the titles by trimming leading and trailing numbers. I got about half the participants entered before I got too busy to finish it. I plan to use it this year to provide a list of results, like number of films watched by year and by decade.

Not an easy task, but very rewarding when completed. I know a user from the old IMDB horror board did something similar for the October challenges. It was quite amazing, especially since it was over many years & the large amount of data due to the numerious participates of the challenge.

The Shape of Water count? Personally i wouldnt consider shape of water horror. I dont think it makes any attempt to really scare us. A lot of delToros other films tho could classify.

I watched the first two Omen films. A few thoughts...Satan is powerful af. Literally the second anyone has information that could harm the antichrist that person winds up dead. I liked that the second film dealt a little with Damien finding out his destiny. It was a little rushed but it was an interesting character decision. I’m also reminded of the book Good Omens by Neil Gaiman.

Judgement please?
Just picked up two DVDs in charity shop. Kind of look like they have horror elements, if not flat out horror films. IMDB has them as horror genre (and other genres)... Do they count for October Challenge please?
I Know What You Did Last Summer. Passengers.

Midnight Meat Train...I’ve avoided this one for years as I felt the title was a little too cheesy and on the nose. Didn’t expect to see Bradley Cooper as the lead, Leslie Bibb is always nice to look at, and I’m a fan of Vinnie Jones as well. All in all pretty decent, kinda bleak, weird twists...but definitely not bad. There was a fair share of gratuitous violence. It’s not subtle toward the end. It’s a bloodbath.
