This has maybe been talked about here, but Ed Norton was a roaster at the Comedy Central Roast of Bruce Willis.
He was talking about his time on The Incredible Hulk.... "“I thought we should try to make one Marvel movie that was as good as the worst Chris Nolan movie, but what the hell was I thinking."
I feel like Hulk (2003) was kind of that but it would've been cool to see Ed Norton's version of that movie. I'm always curious about "what if" movies that could have happened.

He's a well known dickhead. I was always happy he was replaced and this just made me happier. I remember watching the Avengers for the first time and thinking "this would have been terrible with Ed Norton."

Great actor but he’s always been a whiny bitch whenever he doesn’t get his way.

He really leaned he into that public perception of himself during. He was actually quite hilarious.

I understand Edward Norton is kind of a jerk in real life (don't know for sure, never met him), but he's actually right about The Incredible Hulk. He had suggested (and even filmed) scenes that would have fleshed out the characters and elevated the material, but Marvel wanted to simplify the film into what we got. As for the 2003 film, it took risks and tried to have depth, but it definitely wasn't good.

I think he goes after Marvel because he knows he won't get work from them anymore anyway. Didn't he also do the same thing on The Italian Job. Everyone hated him on that too. Notice he doesn't talk about that.

Notice he doesn't talk about that. I believe he did, yes. Norton isn't really the one you hire for something that's along the lines of a "McMovie", not like he is better than them but he sure thinks he is and is sour when he doesn't get his way. His Birdman character is pretty much him.

Notice he doesn't talk about that. He refused to do press for Italian Job after it was over. He had a tumultuous relationship with the cast and crew on that movie. I'm pretty sure he was forced by contract to do the movie at all if I'm not mistaken.

LOL HULK SMASH!!!! Cry fanboys cry.
Still, what a giant misconception about the MCU as such. But Norton can be forgiven, this was just MCU film 2 and he could not have known better back then.

His Hulk movie (to me) was so bad I didn't even realize it was part of the MCU. It did not get better upon realizing it was part of the MCU. It was well cast but Edward Norton's brand of Hulk didn't do it for me and after I learned how much of a shit he was behind the scenes, it all made sense.
At this point, and Ed Norton version of that movie is exactly what we got.
I was a little taken back at the Bruce Willis Roast. That's why one of the best and most committed actors today doesn't get more work; he shits on his own projects in public.

HULK is one of my favorite films. Ed Norton wouldn't have made it better

It's not really a surprise. Norton is a very particular kind of serious actor who cares more about the 'art' part. Getting himself shoved into a franchise movie is like forcing Gordon Ramsay to work in a McDonalds kitchen.
